After the England & Croatia Euro 2008 qualifier match in Zagreb, Steve Mclaren should face heavy criticism by English media over his strategies & his decision. His bold move of changing team formation from 4-4-2 to 3-5-2 certainly backfire & matter became more serious in the fact that he opted for this change in such a crucial match against the tougher team in the group away from home.
The English team when playing with 4-4-2 formation doesn't concede any goal in the new coach time span, but when Steve tried 3-5-2 against the Croatia the defender concede two goals & it would easily be more than that. If team performing reasonably well in 4-4-2 configuration then what was the need of change of formation. It was also apparent that there was suspicion in selecting player for different position which they are not customary of like Ashley Cole. If we look last few months form of top English midfielder like Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Michael Carrick & company is not so great & Lampard is might be going to the worst part of his career playing very badly for England since world cup. If the form of midfielder is not up to the mark then why Steve is gone for a midfield oriented formation. In the match it is clearly visible that English team lacking creativity & they were playing direction less football so it is a worthy result for Croatia they deserve a victory.
The substitution change were also so bad & mistime or not on time by the manager.Whatever he say about the base of selection performanc ,it is cleat that Steve Mclaren wanted a team of stars not a team which is wanted or a team of player's which are performing but don't have tags of superstar's.
Who ever read this if they think that Steve Mclaren is
not worthy for the manager of England football team his selection is wrong then please vote.
