This is one of my favorite poems. The title is The Emperor of Ice-Cream written by Wallace Stevens.

The Emperor of Ice-Cream

Call the roller of big cigars,
The muscular one, and bid him whip
In kitchen cups concupiscent curds.
Let the wenches dawdle in such dress
As they are used to wear, and let the boys
Bring flowers in last month's newspapers.
Let be be finale of seem.
The only emperor is the emperor of ice-cream.

Take from the dresser of deal,
Lacking the three glass knobs, that sheet
On which she embroidered fantails once
And spread it so as to cover her face.
If her horny feet protrude, they come
To show how cold she is, and dumb.
Let the lamp affix its beam.
The only emperor is the emperor of ice-cream.

The Art of Poetry

Poetry can be very intimidating for many of us. However, this literary art isn’t so bad once you get the hang of it. The most important part about poetry is that it is meant to reflect us: emotions, feelings, thoughts, etc. When I first started writing poetry, I sat on the computer for 3 hours. The end product contained feeling and intensity. It is important to realize that Poetry is you in word form. Usually when I write poetry, I write about subjects that interest me such as life after death, love, and other human emotions. I also like having a story within the poem. Although, professionally this may not be “ok” who cares. What makes a professional poem? High-class word choices and subtle details? I believe that anyone can write poems. All poems are good in my eyes. We each use a different style, word choices, imagination, etc. and this contributes to progressing poetry.

I recently wrote an easy How to guide on ehow titled: How to write Poetry. IF your interested take a quick look. It won’t hurt you. You never know, you could become a professional poet one day. ☺

This is a poem i wrote about 6 months ago, and to this day has been my favorite poem. I was trying to go for a different style, having it convey meaning within the words and structure. Let me know what you guys think.

E3 2009

With E3 2009 starting June 1st (woo hoo I cant wait!) I wanted to give a heads up to all those awesome games that must be shown at this years E3.

Modern Warfare 2 - The sequal to COD4 is bound to make an appearance, and perhaps even hand on gameplay. With several teasers and trailers out, this title is sure to be a huge GOTY contender

Overrated Game Characters???

The other day, I bumped into a fascinating article on IGN.com titled Overrated Game Characters? As I read the article, I thought if there is such a thing as an overrated character. In my opinion, IGN's main argument was that at one point or another the game character had dissapointed many gamers and/or failed to meet expectations. Also, it seemed that most of the characters were, at one point or another, game icons of the PC, Xbox, PS, and nintendo. The fact is, game characters become legends, not "overrated". The word "overrated" is defined as "to rate, value, or estimate too highly". A great example would be Kratos fro the God of War series. When the action-packed and highly rated game came out, Kratos was praised for his "badass" qualities. Perhaps right now, Kratos seemed to be overrated, but at that time it wasnt. Surprisingly enough, Master Chief was the number 1 overrated game characer according to IGN. Sure, he may not say a word the whole game, or seem "badass", but the master chief provides more than just a game character. He created a world, a fantasy, an idea.

So to end this discussion, i would like to ask you guys: Do you think there are any Overrated Game Characters

Dead Rising 2!

Dead Rising for the Xbox 360 appeared, to what many true loyal fans believe, as too long ago. However, Just recently posted was an inside look at Dead Rising 2. The story seems to still be somewhat of a mystery, however it is true that DR2 will feature a new character. And also, The chainsaw. Finally, we will have the opportunity to chainsaw the undead and watch their bodies fly through the air. What a glorious sight!

Stay tuned as I post more information about this upcoming sequel!
