Spider-man 4 & 5!!!
November 22nd 2008 22:04
Last week I mentioned how everyone expected The Dark Knight to beat Titanic's record and become The All Time Box Office but instead stopped at two. Well seems like WB is still after the title. The Dark Knight will be back in theater in January to try to break the record and hopefully win a couple of Oscars. I remember the week it was released, there were rumors about Heath Ledger getting nominated for Best Actor. Only future will tell.
We've had a lot of trilogies lately. Some of them were great, did better than their predecessors, became blockbusters hits and must watch while others weren't that good, failed to meet expectations, became blockbuster flops or should have being made in the first place. There was Lord Of The Rings 3 (Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King), Matrix 3 (Matrix Revolutions), Shrek 3 (Shrek The Third), X-Men 3 (X-Men: The Last Stand), The Mummy 3 (The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor), Pirates Of The Caribbean 3 (Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End) and most probably in the coming year Batman 3.
In 2007, Spider-Man 3 was released and I thought "There we go, the trilogy is complete and there won't be anymore Spider-Man movie in the near future". Turns out I was wrong: there are rumors about a fourth and fifth Spider-Man movie to be shot back to back. Spider-Man 4 will be released May 2011.
The plot for both movies is still unclear. Probable cast include: Dylan Baker as Dr. Curt Conner/The Lizard; Daniel Gillies as John Jameson (Mary Jane Watson fiancée in Spider-Man 2)/Man-Wolf. Other possible characters are: Carnage, Black Cat, and Vulture.
Kristen Dunst might be replaced for the role of Mary Jane Watson for unclear reasons and the screenplay will be written by James Vanderbilt (Zodiac)
Let's hope that it does better than Spider-Man 3.
