Spider-man 3: A little to cheesy and I love cheese
Like most girls I rooted for Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson throughout the trilogy. I loved when M.J. said, “go get’em tiger”. A woman should support her man an encourage him to do his best at whatever job he has to do. But I knew her words would come back to haunt her.
Women do sometimes expect the same kind of emotional support we give. But most men do not think emotionally. This can cause problems in any relationship. If you add to a strained relationship another female you may have flirted with and she flirts with you in front of your girlfriend you may have a little explaining to do. If your girlfriend catches you doing something with another women you did with her she thought was really romantic it will put you in some hot water. It might even take a near death experience to get her back.
When Spider-man kisses another women upside down like he did M.J. and that women rubs Peter’s shoulder flirtatiously in front of her when she is already having a stressful week it upsets her quite a bit. As it would upset most women under similar circumstances.
But the love story isn’t the cheesiest part of this movie. When the black goo brings out the worst in Peter the ego trip is ridiculous. When I heard the characters transformation described he was suppose to turn “dark”. I was thinking more Edward Norton in Primal Fear . Instead it was more like an over abundance of arrogance trapped him Peter mostly looked sick. The goo was a parasite that brought out the worst in its host.
Peter’s greasy hair partially in his face looked more “geeky” than having the little boy hair cut he sports so well. He might act a little “nerdy” (as M.J. tells him with a loving smile) prior to being infected, but after he acts like and looks like a “geek” trying to hard to be “cool” and failing miserably. He’s a whole lot hotter a little “nerdy”.
Still the “revenge of the nerds” fighting was funny. What I mean is Peter Parker against Eric Forman (That 70s show) I mean Eddie Brock played by Topher Grace. I knew Eric had some pent up frustrations and might go on a killing spree (Hyde said that once I think) but did he have to turn into such a gruesome monster. The every once in awhile talk to Spider-man as half crazy Eric I mean Venom and half monster. LOL
This Spider-man still has enough action to keep you on the edge of your seat. As much as Peter wants to think he is the “coolest” thing around after he is infected, Spider-man wants revenge. He almost kills his best friend twice. And he is almost killed in a battle with the Sandman. The Sandman was the best character in this third Spider-man movie. He brings answers and some closure to the story .
I liked the Second movie best. This I give a B-.
