As time goes by, people want to find cure for anything. They want to look young as ever. They are excited about the ideas of retaining the look of their youth through the continuous development of science and technology. One component of this measure is spider vein treatment. Such condition hits more women than men at an earlier stage because of hormonal changes. Most women develop spider veins during their menopausal period. But it can be earlier, depending on the genes of the person who has this condition.

The Various Processes Related to Spider Veins

If you are one person who is also in search, what have you found so far? Spider veins do not pose any harmful threat on one’s health. But some people do find it ghastly to see some veins beginning to pop out on the parts of their bodies that they have become used seeing without any marks.

The spider veins are nearer on the skin’s surface. These can be found on the face and on the neck. These must not be mistaken as varicose veins. The latter looks bigger and more pronounced. They also cause more health hazards and pains than the spider veins.

But no one is stopping you from going through the available medical processes. If you feel like you really have to and that you have the capacity to move forward, here are your best bet when it comes to that.

1. Electrodessication. From the name itself, you will get the idea that this process uses the electricity in order to get rid of the veins. The electricity acts like a shocker to the veins. It aims for these veins to swell. After a while the veins will close and will eventually die. The procedure may appear well executed. But the after effects that this can do on your skin are not that pretty. This can leave scars due to the electricity that your skin was treated to.

2. Sclerotherapy. A solution or a compound of various elements that are intended for the process are mixed and then injected to your spider veins. Once this has been done, the veins will subside and eventually dissolve. The veins are moved closer to the skin’s surface to be sloughed off by your body. But the beauty of this treatment cannot be seen until a month or so of continuous procedure.

At first, you may see bruises and discoloration on the parts where injections have been done. But once everything is healed, the veins will be gone forever. You may be happy at the thought. But you must take note that there are new veins that come out of your skin as you age. This means that you may have to undergo the process over and over again.

3. Photorejuvenation. Such kind includes IPL or the intense pulsed light and BBL or the broadband light. These kinds of treatments use the process of selective photothermolysis. This aim for one thing. It removes those unwanted spider veins. The process goes like this. The light is applied on to your skin. It will penetrate through the veins. The veins absorb the energy coming from the light, making them hot until they could no longer stand it so that will cause their destruction. After that, the veins are moved to the skin’s surface and sloughed off by your body.

You must know that lasers are not that ideal in spider vein treatment. This is due to the fact that cosmetic lasers emit red spectrum that is not well-received by your veins.

Prevention is still better than spider vein treatment because you save time and money. Here are some things you can do to prevent spider veins from every appearing on your legs.

First, elevate your legs whenever possible. You can surely do this when you get home from school or work. The ideal angle of your feet should be higher than heart level so blood will be able to flow throughout the body.

You should also exercise regularly because this reduces pooling or pressure in the veins. Examples of these include jogging, walking, running, climbing and swimming as such activities will help you maintain your body weight and reduce pressure on your legs. You should also watch what you eat since there is no point sweating it out when you are just going to gain the calories you lost.

Sometimes over exercising can cause a vein to rupture. If this happens, elevate your leg and put a compress in the affected area then contact your doctor or get emergency medical care immediately.

It is nice to relax in a hot tub or go to a sauna but this must not be done often. Doing so let’s absorb excess heat which increases vein distention and lead to more pooling of blood.

If you have to sit for long periods of time, stretch those legs and flex those ankles so blood will flow in the lower part of your body.

Women should wear a compression hose because this provides external graduated counter-pressure to aid in venous blood flow to the heart. This also reduces pooling and pressure in the veins. Aside from that, it can reduce the risk of forming a deep vein blood clot which should be worn when you are on a long flight or car ride.

But despite these preventive measures, spider vein can still happen. When they do, you have to decide whether or not you want to undergo surgery to remove it or not. If you are worried about paying for it, ask your insurance provider if it is covered under the plan even if most of the time, they will not allow this because it is a cosmetic procedure.

However, the loop hole here is if your doctor signs for it and sees that this is necessary. You just have to get photographs and other results to show to the insurance provider so this can be approved. This enables you to have this procedure done without paying a single dime.

When this happens, you just have to follow the instructions given by the doctor like what you can and cannot do before and after surgery. You will have to go back to the doctor for follow up checks and another series of injections since your spider veins will not go away in just one session.

The best cure against any disease regardless if it is minor or major is prevention. If you don’t, will most likely end up spending hundreds of dollars and in this case, for spider vein treatment. You have to remember that to get the best results, you have to undergo two or three sessions in the next few months.

So do that math and you will realize that you could have spent that money spending it on something else.

The sight of those unwanted veins on your face and on your legs can make you want to rush to your trusted doctors for varicose and spider vein treatment. Although the technology with regards to the cure for such occurrence is continuously developing, people also remain in constant search for some permanent solutions to what they deem as a problem.

Finding a solution to the perceived problem cannot be categorized as mere vanity. Maybe you just want to feel good and you are also concerned about the health risks that these cases may bring forth. It is when you can no longer perform your daily tasks and your life and job is affected by your ultimate goal of concealing the veins that this becomes a personal issue.

Women are more prone to spider veins. The reason for this is the hormonal change that they go through especially during the menopausal period. But men also suffer from the situation.

The Development of the Veins
Who ever likes the emergence of the unwanted veins in their faces and legs? But you cannot do anything about it. You may slow down the process, but as you age, you will have to face the truth that the veins are there to stay. It is of course not unless you are willing to pay the price for these veins to be removed through medical procedures.

If you are wondering how these veins develop, here's a brief overview to give you an idea.

Do you know how the veins work in the circulation of the blood throughout your body? First off, the heart pumps the blood to be able to supply the needed nutrients and oxygen on the different parts of the body. The arteries are responsible to carry the blood from the heart to your body parts. The veins, on the other hand, carry the blood from various parts of the body and bring it back to the heart.

It is amazing how the body works. But just like machines, the body gets old and rusty as it ages, thus the emergence of sickness, weakness and other signs of aging.

The veins act as the one-way valves. They aim to prevent the blood from flowing back to where they've been before it can reach the heart. Through time, these valves weaken. As a result, the blood can leak back to the vein. If the vein has collected enormous amount of blood, this can cause decongestion and the vein will be clogged. This is why the vein expands and becomes enlarged and swollen. The result will be either varicose or spider veins.

What's the difference?

Spider veins are nearer on the surface of the skin. These are smaller and they appear in red or bluish colors. Varicose, on the other hand, looks more swollen. It appears like the veins will pop out of the skin any time, although it can be found deeper than the spider veins. This appears in the colors blue and deep purple. When a woman is pregnant, she's prone to develop varicose veins around the vaginal area. These are more known as hemorrhoids.

You can consult your trusted dermatologists for any vein problems. Spider vein treatment is easier than curing varicose and hemorrhoids. It doesn’t pose much health risks than the two.

All about Spider Vein Treatment

Before, the chances of getting a spider vein treatment are much lower compared today. This is because women before are not really much into physical beauty as they are today. Not that there is something wrong with wanting to look beautiful, it's just that now—more than ever—physical beauty can serve as a stepping stone to brighter and more opportunities for success.

Many women who have yet to undergo a spider vein treatment don’t realize it but aside from the humiliation caused by these ugly veins on the skin, the condition can even bring them more depression in the long run because it can be painful and even life threatening when not treated immediately
