South Africa domineted Austrlia in Perth

Write in my blog:
The final test match between Australia and South Africa which is the last test match played by the one of the all time greats Ricky Ponting started on a great note.
If Australia can beat South Africa they can be World no1 .If South Africa can at least draw this match they maintain their World no 1 position. The Final test kickoff was at WACA Perth, considered as the fastest pitch in the world. Smith winning the toss elected to bat on a pitch which is tough to bat on.
South African opening pair started the game on a good note as they were 36 for no loss at the end of 11 over’s. Watson got the first blood as he has taken the wicket of skipper Smith. Amla and Peterson tried to study the ship but they just managed 30 run partnership before Peterson getting out in the bowling of debutant Starc .Suddenly South Africa lost 5 wickets in a flash, from 60/1 they were down to 75 for 6 including the debutant Elger getting out for a duck. Australian’s seems to have every thing in hand but then it all came to the FaF who studied the ship for South Africa with handy partnerships with Philander and Robin Peterson. By the effort of Du Plessis South Africa ended on a score of 225 with Lyon being the pick of the bowler as he had taken 3 wickets.

South African pace bowlers looked far more dangerous than the Australian pace men and Australians are 6 down before the score reached 50 run mark, Mathew Wade denied South Africans to take control of the game as he scored a quick fire 68 runs to keep the South African lead less than 100 and he managed a handy partnership with Hastings. Steyn was the pick of the bowlers as he has taken 4 Australian wickets while Robin Peterson played an important role in winding of the tail.
South Africans changed their game plan in the second innings, as they started to attack the bowlers and in the process they lost the wicket of Alviro Peterson for a great catch by Johnson of his own bowling but the South Africans dint change their strategy and continued attacking .Hasim Amla walked in after the fall of Peterson started to counter attack the Australian bowling and made them think. The pair of Amla and Smith put up a 178 run partnership in just 153 balls .Smith got out to a bouncer and to a great catch taken by Lyon in deep. The scored at a run rate more than 6 till the wicket at a pitch which has something for bowlers. Australian bowlers dint have any clue about what was going on .Kallis replacing Smith continued counter attack with Amla and Kallis got out just 20 runs short of his 13000 runs in the bowling of Starc. AB De Villiers who had not scored a half century after he had started keeping answered all his critics with bat. Amla was very unfortunate to get out on 196 in the bowling of Johnson because of a great reflex catch.

It was unfortunate for Elgar as he has not managed to get of the work in this first test as he got out for zero on both the accessions. AB De continued to bat aggressively and scored his 14th test hundred and increased his scoring rate and started to score runs quickly in the process he scored 21 four’s and 3 sixes. At last South Africa got all out for 569 and the target for Australia was 632.Pick of the bowlers was Starc who have taken his first five wicket haul while Johnson complimented Starc well with his 4 wickets.
It was very touch task ahead of Australian’s as the pitch is still assisting bowlers and the edges still carrying to the slip cordon. They started of well as they have seen the last season of day three well. With two more days to go South Africans were the favorites of the match. South African’s started the day very well as they have taken the wicket of David Warner of the 2nd ball of the day and Australians were never comfortable with the bowling of South African Pace trio .After loosing the wicket of Watson, Ponting walked to center to bat in his carrier started of strongly with his trade mark pull shot but couldn’t hang out long as he got out just before lunch in the bowling of Robin Peterson. Ponting received a great fair well as every one in the South African team walked to him and congratulated him and he received a great applause from the crowd as he walking to the pavilion.
Australian skipper seems to have come with the South African game plan as he started to attack. Ed Cowan completed his half century which was very well played but he got out to a trap set by the South Africans as he pulled a shot straight into the hands of the bowler in the bowling of Steyn. South Africans kept taking wickets as they were 235 for 9 and then the Starc stuck some lusty blows partnering with Lyon and he reached his 1st half century and reached his highest score in his first class carrier .This pair delayed victory for South Africa with the partnership of 87 runs. All South African bowlers have shared the wickets as Steyn and Robin Peterson has take three wickets each while Morkel and Philander picked two wickets each.
With South Africa winning the test series 1-0 in Australia they kept their World test no 1 tag with them and South Africans beat Australians twice in Australia in the last two series. South Africans were too good at Perth while Australians had their movements in Adelaide but the great innings of FaF saved the test match for the Proteas. It was a great Test series in the context of game of cricket and Clarke was at his best as he scored two double centuries in this test series and thus the man of the series .
