Soup Bar

Despite nosing around, and hours of Google searching, I'm yet to have an address for this place. It's simply called Soup Bar, and it's on Degraves Street, towards the Collins Street end. It's pretty distinctive from the massive soup pots.
I'd recommend this place, if you can get past the squished seating, and general cramped atmosphere. The prices of the soup seem to change, and even when I told them I was going to write about them, they were still inconsistent. But I think the guide is $7.50 for vegetarian sit down, $8.50 for meat, or $8.50 depending on the staff member. The take away soup seems to be between $5.50 for a small, and $7.50 for a large. I talked to two staff, who just couldn't agree on a proper price.
Aside from this, the soup is quite good, and there's a good variety. The eat-in serves are huge, and all soups come with bread. They don't skimp on ingredients, which is good when you're paying up to $8.50 for liquid. Their soups range from the less adventurous Potato, Bacon and Leek to Choizo sausage to Cauliflower and blue vein cheese. Don't touch the orange juice. Usually it's okay, but the last time I went, although it was 'naturally squeezed', it had no pulp, resembled pear or pineapple juice and tasted... sour at best, rancid at worst!.
But all that said, I'd highly recommend grabbing some take away soup from this place. A meal like soup has so much potential for mediocrity, but you shouldn't be dissapointed with Soup Bar.
