Kmart was the ultimate winner in the plaid cup. Lots of different coloured plaid blouses and tunic tops. I can so see them with leggings for a v. casual look, or tucked into high waisted pencil skirts for a ladylike take on the trend. Am still on the look-out for a plaid coat or jacket, and have been coming up with very little I like.

Overseas, Torrid has a pretty decent selection of plaid, my favourite being the
grey plaid ruffle-front dress.

Evans has the cutest blue check zip jacket.

Nordstrom have a bunch of plaid tops and tunics! My favourite is the:

Sandra Ingrish roll sleeve plaid shirt

Yohji Yamamoto - so architectural and crisp. If I wasn't someone who sat, leaned, dropped, smudged and somehow got mysterious stains on my light coloured clothing, I would be all over this.

Zero Maria Cornejo. Love the layers, the colour and the draping.

Hahahahahha, I'm a total Buffy nerd, so I definitely thought "Giles, hee!", when I was writing it. Buffy nerds unite, yo.

Oh, that's a good point! It would have to be one of those super fitted tees, because any other tee would probably be too thick for it to work and it might look odd. Hmm. Must have a look-see if there are any in plus sizes anywhere. Challenge!

I love it! And you've just made me remember that I totally used to do that as a kid! I just got the distinct memory of a white t-shirt & a shoestring strapped floral dress. Maybe I blocked it, hahaha.

I definitely want to try it again and try and get more wear out of my summer dresses!

Shipping prices from a number of US sites are rather high, I agree. Downside of being on the other side of the world. Although some UK sites have flat rates. Why can't the US do that! Siiigh. I suppose finding friends who might want some clothing and are willing to go in on shipping is one of the only solutions!
