Ramble On - Or How I Get Through This Life

Songs to Sleepwalk To

February 17th 2008 06:14
Friends
This insomnia thing really sucks (thanks to meds helping me fight the flu). l am tired of walking down the crowded street of non-sleep. I seem to be completely wired from the metaphorical caffeine of my life, no sleep from the fusion of worry and sheep. up all night with thoughts ricocheting from one thought to another, showing the time slipping by me on the blinking red clock . So I said "SCREW THIS and decided to put together a playlist for other insomniacs or other recovering folks:

Interpol - "NYC"

Peter Bjorn and John - "Up Against the Wall"

Raveonettes: Dead Sound

Santos and Johnny- "Sleepwalkin’"

Low - "Below & Above"

Ugly Casanova - "Things I Don’t Remember" (Sharpen Your Teeth)

The Smiths - "Asleep" (Louder Than Bombs)

Electric President: Insomnia

The Wallflowers: Sleepwalker

Hi Mis

I've been walking down that same corridor lately as well. It's not fun is it?

I love the selection, especially The Smiths. Such divine melancholy.

I have another song that I listen to after such nights to try and shake myself awake, Insomnia by Faithless:

Hope you get some sleep..

If it's sleep you're after try some aromatherapy, hot chocolate, and relaxing to the persuasive notes of Chopin. Just lie in bed and listen. Stay focused.

Try tensing each muscle then relaxing in return, you'll be asleep in no time.

Meanwhile you have created a feast for us, as usual, Mis. Well done.

Thanks so much for the vid. It is great! At least we are not alone in that long ass hallway. Too bad we live in totally different time zones!

Hi Mis

ug I raise my glass of warm milk to clink in a sleepy cheers! It seems this dratted thing takes hold... and doesn`t let go hey?!?!?! I have suffered for 10 years with it... and even after 10 years you don`t get used it!

I seem to be completely wired from the metaphorical caffeine of my life,

I just love that - that`s brilliant! I hope you manage to direct that travel elsewhere soon.

Thanks for the songs, great choices!
