Mindful

Want for a little breathing room,
To stretch your voice
And your mind.
Space enough to be
Straight and not have to
Bend.
A line of vision unobscured
By the media. And a train of thought
Left on the rails.
The sound of silence instead of
Persuasion.
Insurmountable freedom,
When a mind is allowed
Enough of its own. When
A person can be themselves
In a way
Impossible to conceive.
But it is impossible
To conceive,
When chains of modernity
Hold our heartstring.
It is the stuff of dreams.
Until they have them too.
