Everything you try to squeeze in
Won’t fit. It all tears out
Eventually. All that
acceptance and ‘don’t worry’
Pours down when someone puts in
A little too much.
They only see the thunder, though
Mother nature has seen
Us do our share and wept
In silence but there
Came a time.
Hidden depths of unwavering
Tolerance can only be opposed
By recognition,
By love of the temperance
That bore the war on
The peace that it treasured and
Then bore control that it
Harboured.
It was gone without
Time to notice. I never
Had a chance. I held on
And trued to
Claw back but it wouldn’t
Move. A little thing
But it meant so much.
It was a move that
Pushed an idea out
Of sight. Out of the loop,
So not needed.
You can see the source.
It is bare and exposed.
Broken dreams and unstable minds
That don’t see things quite
The right way.
Pathetic really!
