Social Experiment--CellPhones

Why do teachers *STEAL* students cellphones?
I do think that students who waste class time to text "lol omg" to a friend should lose their phone, but what of us who *gasp* actually use cellphones to *gasp again* communicate and coordinate?
The thought of schools lifting kids cells didn't really come to me until mine was taken while trying to set up a CAMPING TRIP during LUNCH. Seriously there aren't that many kids who will lose valuable instruction time because of me texting during lunch.
Sooo, I came up with this really great idea for a social experiment: find out what is behind this crazy conspiracy and post my results. The tests will not be done until school is out, so give me two or three weeks to set up the final score.
Here's a video of one of the cell phones:
*Hint: if you want to play a great prank while using this 'cellphone snatching' as the punch line, get a bunch of old, broken cellphones and continuously get them taken up the last day of school*
