Newcomers attack

August 17th 2007 11:06
Nothing from England in Friday, so a quick review of a Bundesliga encounter.

Karlsruhe – Hannover

I have my theory that one should not bet in the beginning of the season against newcomers in any league when they are at their home ground. I mean, at least initially, these teams are very motivated in front of their own fans and can manage decent results. So, imagine what the spirits amongst Karlsruhe’s players currently are, after their impressive away win at Nurnberg(0-2) in the first round. Now they have the chance to show their capabilities to the home crowd and with the self-confidence they’ve gained, it is more than possible to outclass the guests.

Karlsruhe is a very tough team, and to my mind, they will be something like Reading in the Premiership. And visits to Karlsruhe would never be easy, and Hannover aren’t a unbeatable team but regular mid-tables.
I’d take the 1 with draw no bet, odds are very good.

Early tips for the weekend

August 16th 2007 14:11
Quick view on some encounters that take place in the weekend.
Expect more thorough preview of some of them in the following days(probably).

Sheffield W – Wolverhampton
The sympathetic Wolves team has been in the golden middle of the table for the most of the time last season. In the end, they had some chances in the play-offs, but in the end they remained in the Championship. But this season the situation is different. After considerable investment, now Wolves are clear favorites for direct promotion. They were unlucky to lose their first game at home (1-2 with Watford) in the last 5 minutes, but the result doesn’t represent what happened on the field. Wolves were better, and probably they will be better away to Sheffield as well(who were smashed 4-1 away to Ipswich in the first round). Don’t worry, Wolves are ok when they are away. Tip: 2 or 2 DNB

Karlsruhe – Hannover
I like betting on newcomers at home in the beginning of the season. Karlsruhe made a little sensation last week with their away win at Nurnberg(0-2). For newbie teams, success in the first game highers the spirits to sky levels, and with their generally good home form(according to last season’s statistics), they will probably make the fans at their home ground happy once again – and Hannover is neither Schalke nor Stuttgart or Dortmund, so Karlsruhe are able to win here. Tip: 1 or 1 DNB

Colchester – Barnsley
Do you remember which was the team who managed 12 wins at home in a row last season? Yeah, the newbies from Colchester with their 5000 stadium made fun of teams with traditions. I doubt that they will be able to repeat this achievement once again, but still they will remain favorites when playing at home. As for Barnsley, they are probably one of the possible relegation candidates, and hardly will match Colchester’s home performance, especially judging from the 6-1-16 away record last year. Tip: 1

Liverpool – Chelsea
One cannot omit such a game. I will be brief here, my thoughts lean towards the 1, but I have a feeling that this won’t be one of the typical 0-0 games between these teams. Especially Liverpool, they now have the power to score more, but Chelsea won’t give up without fight. Well, my feeling is that both teams will score in a spectacular game. Tip: Both teams to score

UEFA for today

August 16th 2007 09:28
No England but 32 uefa encounters.

A proposal from me for a team of my country.

Lokomotiv Sofia – Otzelul Galaz

To be frank, I’m desperate with Bulgarian football. Call it pornography, call it fiasco, label it ridiculous – anyway, I don’t like it. Maybe the only team that I fancy is Lokomotiv. Because unlike the “grands” CSKA and Levski, they don’t spend so much money on useless foreigners, and still manage decent results. Last year they did well in the UEFA, ending up unluckily eliminated by the serious Feyenord team(0-0, 1-1). Now Lokomotiv has the chance to do well for the second year in a row, and they are even more motivated for it, as the champions Levski are now out of all European competitions. Probably many people will go and see the match on the CSKA ground, as this is the only home game of the Bulgarian teams this week. Loko did well in the first round in the Bulgarian league, and they seem promising. The manager is serious about Europe, and looks forward to a good result here in Bulgaria, so that most of the job is done now.
I don’t know much about the Romanian opposition, but they definitely are not classier than the Bulgarians and here I suggest a very probable home win.
Odds are 1.65-1.80

Wednesday Premiership

August 15th 2007 07:09
More fixtures today, not only from the Premiership, but for the Champions League as well. Others may refer to the European cups, but I prefer to look for something profitable in the Premiership.
So my first recommendation:

Football in England

August 14th 2007 14:01
England and football - connected in some way.
Football, combined with the passion of betting(in limited wagers), are the my preconditions to create a b-log mainly focused on the Premiership and Championship.
Every preview here is created with effort and with information from various sources. And it is not just a rewriting
