Snake Science

It's no doubt that the Burmese python problem has reached epic proportions in Florida. They finally have reached the Everglades and only more havoc can pursue.Scientist were counting on freezing temperatures to kill them off. Joke's on them because it didn't work!
Why?
Because ALL snakes can adapt to their environment, regardless where they came from. We will eventually notice the released and escapees from colder states and Canada show up. In colder climates it might be tougher to breed for these snakes, but survival is built-in ALL snakes. Snakes thermo-regulate because they are classified as cold blooded. They basically seek warmer or cooler areas to maintain their body temperature. As long as they didn't consume a meal recently, snakes can hibernate in cooler temperatures.
I'm surprised that the scientists didn't know this. Not to worry, there will be a million dollar study to determine this!
My opinion is that these snakes need to be destroyed, or they'll destroy the environment. Cedar is deadly to reptiles. We were told never to use cedar chips or use cedar wood when you are creating a reptile habitat. Perhaps a cedar oil can act as a weapon.
