Smoky Road Ahead

If youve never been down I-80 between Reno and Sacramento, this isnt the time to check it out. Im leaving Fernley, Nv. right now to go to Oakland, Ca. The only route is westbound down I-80 through Sacramento. In the high mountains there is a really big fire right now. Its burning everything in its path from Blue Canyon to Foresthill over miles of steep, rugged terrain. I watched a few minutes of local news in the truck stop and they were showing pictures of the fire area. One big wall of smoke! The traffic is creeping along and the ash is falling like snow. As much as I hated last winter, we could sure use some rain today! Its gonna be a long ride.
