Flashes of memories - MUGABE MUST GO!!! ZIMBABWEANS NEED THEIR HOME BACK

There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness - Carl Jung To be at one with God is to be at peace ... peace is to be found only within, and unless one finds it there he will never find it at all. Peace lies not in the external world. It lies within one's own soul. - Ralph Waldo Trine

sleepless nights

There is something about a sleepless night
that makes even the bluest of skies grey.
The sweetest twitter of birds transforms
into a cacophony of untuned instruments,
playing from different pages of the same song.

The numbers of the clock tick over with the speed
of a well-lived man of 103 as he shuffles
his way along a winter kissed street.
A million thoughts crash and collide into a
firework display of sparkle and colour,
through a brain already confused by the lies
and deceit of living in a brain-washed world.

Heavy lids conceal dreams that now dance

under the harsh light of a summer day,
thoughts kept behind the prison bars of lashes
lest they be allowed out to roam and wander.
The day turns to night, turns to day, turns to
moon, turns to sun, turns to rain, turns to shine...

turns to eternity.

Mmm...I can relate to your poem well, Ash.
Just when the mind finally gives in, the little birds and the naughty sunlight forces it out of bed...sigh...

Hi Ash,

You too?

mmm, the word is that it's the Pluto transition - it only happens every 52 years and it'll take until January 10th to 'get there.' It may havebeen downgraded to whatever it was down graded to, but it still affects us when it moves, no matter what they call it.

I guess the Moon eclipse has it's effects too...

Personally, I still haven't stopped spinning either and sat up all night last night myself. I didn't doze off until about 4:30am...and now my head is feeling like a drunks... spinning out of kilter with everything...it is so bizarre.

I also liked the lines that Dusk highlighted, as well as;

The day turns to night, turns to day, turns to
moon, turns to sun, turns to rain, turns to shine...

turns to eternity.

...and I have only one thing to say,

Camomile (or Sleepy-time) tea.

Dizzy Hugs

HI ASh

That's true. For me, one of the hardest bits about not sleeping is feeling like I'm the only one in the world awake. Bit dramatic I know, but it really does feel like that.

I hope we all sleep well tonight with peaceful dreams, mine have been far too angsty....

Sleepy and restful thoughts to us all,

The cadence of this piece of work is wonderful too.

I just noticed Lillas comment.... I actually slept quite well on eclipse night(probably because I didnt take my eyes off it for a second!) but last night was a shocker for me, mum, Kman and two of my best buds....We all described the same symptoms!

Hi Everyone

I hope you don`t mind me replying to you all together - I just want to limit the amount of emails you get!

Hey Nick,

Yep the nights sure are long when the eyes refuse to close. I have been hearing a lot of people complain recently so it must have something to do with that eclipse we recently had.

I hope you have had some rest?

Hi Katyzzz

Sorry you didn`t understand any of it, I thought it was pretty straight forward myself... but there`s the joy of the english language for you - always a bit of confusion everyone.

HI Lara

How bad is that? You are about to finally drift off into that deep sleep your body craves and the alarm goes off to get you started on another day that you are unprepared for!

Thanks Tracy,

I hope your walk with Fergs managed to create a sleepy night for you. That`s often the way isn`t it? Get the blood pumping and reach a point of exhaustion so that you have no choice but to sleep.

Hey Lily

I love the sound of birds too - just wish they would wake up when I do

Up and down all night eh? hhhmmmm you been misbehaving gerl?

I did a montage of the eclipse - it`s full on random shots but I don`t have the time to go through it and make it any better. I`ll post it in a minute. My lens was a little grainy unfortunately... I`m gutted I didn`t think to use something else but I guess these are better than nothing. Glad you liked it x I hope you are sleeping better too.

Thanks Dusk

Most nighst it feels exactly like that... siiiiggghhhh I hope you are well and having a relxaing time.

Hi Aimzster

I hope you are also having a few more restful nights. Something is definitely in the air hey!?!

Hi Lilla

UG JANUARY?? My word I`ll be a zombie by then! I have been awake now since 4 this morning.... and I cannot sleep during the day so there is no chance of catch up. I am glad you have started to feel better. On my travels today I`m going looking for those hematite stones for my bath tomorrow night. I wonder if you can BULK BUY!

Hi K

Yeah I have been trying a few new techniques after some helpful hints myself. I was also trying to go for longer sentences to get that 'zombie' feel. It has worked better with another one I have done but that is being zipped off for entry into some comps... lateer in the week I`ll be posting some links... there is a particular place I think your work would fit in perfectly.

Weird you slept well on the eclipse night and not the next hey? I don`t know too much about the influence of these things so I`m looking into it at the moment.

Hiya CC

I am sorry to hear your pooch was ill and I hope everything is better now? Hopefully you have both managed a more restful evening.

Hiya Mis

lol Your words just made something click for me.... I recall (I think it was you Tracy?) a blogger putting up a post about how we manage to juggle reality and virtuality - it appears we are all insomniacs

Hi Kylie

Thank you for your kind words. Walking the hallways at ridiculous hours while the world around sleeps soundly is rather frsutrating to say the least! I hope you find a cure for your sleepless nights soon.

Thanks all for your great comments. I wonder now about who else is having a sleepless night when I`m wide awake. Good to know I have some company!

May you all have more restful nights soon and many happy dreams.

Hi Ash and everyone

Hope you're all sleeping better. I had a good night last night, yeyyy. My first one in ages and now I can take the world on....or little bits of it anyway

Glad you had a good nights sleep Tracy - it certainly makes a huge difference doesn`t it? You tend to see the world through new eyes. Mine hasn`t really improved but I am getting a lot of work done which is a good thing - and probably the cause of the sleepless nights. LOL
26. September 4th 2007 @ 08:56. Tracy Says:
Hi Ash

That's not good that you're still having troubles sleeping, it really wears you down doesn't it? Mine is still intermittent so when I have a good night I feel like celebrating. Are you studying as well as working? You sound very busy,

Take care xxx

Beautifully expressed, Ash. Your poetry creates a realm of its own, one that is warm, inviting, and strangely "familiar".

Hi Tracy

I have been an insomniac for years now so am pretty much used to the broken sleep - it just seems to be worse at the moment. C'est la vie. I am hoping over the weekend I can just crash.... here`s holding thumbs hey!

No I have put off studying for the time being. Unfortunatley I have too much else going on at the moment I cannot really dedicate myself to studies right now. There is always next year though.

Ash as always wonderful, beautiful, descriptive and with those big eyes in the banner at the top it all adds up to more beauty.

It must be something in the air, I spent last night mostly awake with a little boy sleeping in our bed while Daz slept on the sofa and I had to keep waking up to someone with cramps in their legs... or a foot in my head! Oh sleep why have you forsaken me.

Take Care.

Hi Sarah,

Thanks - it is always good to see you.

ooooh it seems Pluto is really putting a spin on things hey? I hope you have managed to sort out your sleeping arrangements.... my little sister used to creep in with me sometimes and I know how fidgety she used to be.... kicked and slapped and all sorts!

Sleep well!
Hugs
