Sick kids and Baseball

Friday in the house,
Hope everyone is getting ready for the weekend better than I am. Already had a rough day. My baby, who I am responsible for taking care of during the day has a cold so she’s been tough, then I get called to pick up my oldest daughter from school. She’s had a bad cough for a week and a half and now I’m told that she had a fever in school. So two sick girls home with me during the day and I’m wondering if the weekend plans are already shot. Not that we had great ones but still… Have to sign up my daughter for softball, my son for tee-ball have my daughter’s soccer game this weekend. It never ends for the kid activities. Also planned on taking the kids to see Unaccompanied Minors. Looked cute, at least the kids were laughing at the trailer. Will give my review afterwards. Hope that we get to do it now, but I get the feeling that as soon as my oldest realizes that tomorrow’s Saturday, all of a sudden she will feel a lot better. Amazing how that works huh? Fun being a house Dad.
I was about to sign off when I see that the Yanks have signed Andy Pettite. Don’t know how I feel about that. He was not as good last year and hurt a bit, so on that note I’m happy he went back to the Yanks, but I think he is still a quality pitcher so I am unhappy with it. The unreal thing is he signed a one year 16 million dollar deal. I guess the Yankee payroll wasn’t quite high enough that they got to add on 16 million. It is sickening to me and the main reason why I can’t stand that team. There is never a spending limit for them. If they had to come back to the rest of the pack, even back to the Red Sox payroll (Who are getting up there also) the Yanks wouldn’t compete with that. I always find it hard for fans of that team to be proud of their accomplishments when they are playing on an unleveled playing field. When your team can just sign every major star, where is the pride. It is laughable. I just hope as always that they get that obscene payroll and fall flat on their faces again. That does make it enjoyable.
