Shrinking retail packaging! grrrrrrr!
August 14th 2009 23:43
Is anyone getting disgusted with the ever shrinking size of consumer product packaging these days?
Yeah, we know it's been going on for years, but do the manufactures think we're really so stupid that we don't notice?
They shrink it ALL! Why not just raise the price? When will a regular size roll of bathroom tissue be the size of a single wipe? Paper towel, one single sheet?
It really chaps my hide when the margarine makers decided to add AIR! The size of the tub didn't shrink but the weight did. Parkay recently changed their package with the words "Great NEW taste!" and "Fresh & Creamy Taste". What a load of CRAP, the package weight shrunk from 16 oz to 13 oz because they whipped it. Now it burns in the skillet a whole lot faster than before. But all the margarine brands are doing it. They finally made "bun length" hot dogs a lot of years ago, have you notice those are way longer than the buns now?
My ice cream recently shrunk from a 1/2 gallon to 3/8th of a gallon. Thats 25% less! A can of TUNA from 6 oz to 5 oz (20%). Once upon a time I'd swear a can of Tuna was 6.5 oz. So all of you out there who think you're getting cheated when your recipe calls for "1 can" of tuna YOUR ARE (getting cheated). I'm so pissed about the tuna cans I'm ready to boycott Tuna!
Just raise the damn price already rather than making me adjust all my recipes.
Anyone with me?
