Shots and Doctor Medicine - Is The Needle The Right Way?

Should people be given shots in the arm? It's to enter the syrum into the blood stream, so why not allow it to be taken orally? The heart pumps the blood around the body, when you eat you feed the blood nutrients and enzymes to keep it alive; why not take the syrum and let the goodness flow through the body via the intestinat tract?
