Shoe Off - by Natasha Abrahams

Flatforms

September 16th 2011 06:23
Summer is coming to Australia and with it, a new trend for fashionistas to eagerly step into- or shun. Having already had a love/hate relationship with the northern hemisphere in their summer, it is now time for the 'flatform' to invade Down Under.

The flatform, which as the name suggests is the marriage of a flat shoe with a platform heel, has the practical advantage of giving you extra height without making you contort your foot into angles that feet are just not meant to experience. But, like most things with a practical advantage, it is absolutely hideous.

Here is the evidence:

Jimmy Choo- get them here.

Wittner- get them here.

Elizabeth and James- get them here.

ASOS: An internaSHOEnal store

September 10th 2011 11:41
f you're reading this, you have an internet connection. And if you have an internet connection you've heard of ASOS, the online-only fashion superstore which ships the world over.

Some of the shoes available on ASOS. I'm in love.

Any kind of garment you could imagine can probably be found somewhere on ASOS- including shoes from a range of brands including French Connection, Melissa, ALDO and more. ASOS even has their own line of shoes.

What sets ASOS apart from many other online stores is how easy it is to find exactly what you're after. They have such a huge volume of products that it would be quite the task to sort through endless slowly loading pages of shoes in search of a particular design. It's easy to narrow down the products displayed by checking the boxes on the side of the screen, which give you options such as colour, brand, heel height and even leather or non-leather. Another good online shoe store with a great search function is Wittner, which even lets you sort by material or occasion.

While online is usually where you'd go in search of a bargain, that's not ASOS's selling point. They do have clearance items and you can sometimes find designer mark-downs, but generally they are priced not too dissimilarly from what you would find in stores. One way to keep your shopping costs down is to take advantage of the free international standard shipping offer. There is no word on how long they will continue free shipping, but it's been there for quite awhile so it is a safe assumption that it will be available for some time to come.

How do you shoe!

September 8th 2011 12:18
Welcome to my new baby blog, Shoe Off.

As you may have guessed, Shoe Off is about all things shoes. I will post the latest in shoe news, blogging about beautiful footwear and shoe sales. As the owner of more pairs of shoes than I can count, every now and then I will write about the shoe wisdom I have gleaned over the years.

By the way, notice the title of this post? I'm aiming to include the word 'shoe' in the title of every single blog entry. There are only so many words that can be replaced with 'shoe', and there are only so many shoe expressions. So this will prove to be quite a challenge.
