Chinese action movie star Jet Li was chosen as World Health Organization Goodwill Ambassador to promote and champion key health issues.
The WHO was quoted in a statement: “Jet Li is expected to use his worldwide celebrity status to raise attention in key health issues including public health responses to emergencies and mental health.”
Following Jet Li and his family’s brush of death incident in Maldives hotel which was flooded during the tsunami that swept the Indian Ocean, the actor turned to philanthropy and established a charity called One Foundation, which aims to help victims of natural disasters.
“If we do not take care of our bodies, we will not be able to do many things. This is our common belief, and I will do my very best to spread this shared belief to the world, “Jet Li commented on his latest appointment.

Paris Hilton's house in Los Angeles was reported burglarized on a Friday last week where about $2 million of her jewelries were reported missing.
Police officer Julianne Sohn and her team reported that the break-in happened at around 5 a.m. on a Friday at Hilton's home in the Sherman Oaks area of Los Angeles. Reports said a man wearing a hooded sweat shirt and globes broke in through the home's front door, ransacked her bedroom and stole Hilton's jewelries worth $2 million
