If your hair is just a few inches long, you can get pretty clips or pins and put them in your hair. You can twist parts around and pin them, leaving a few pieces free. You can vary your look a lot using all kinds of different pins, claw clips and headbands. Really Long Link

If your hair is jaw to shoulder length you can have even more fun with it while letting it grow out.
You can do two piggytails, which is cute, but fun. Or you can do mesy, mini type buns and have face-framing pieces around your face. It also depends on whether you want bangs, side bangs or all one length. You can do mini braids around the front and put then in a half up, leaving bangs out, or put them in. You can do twists (like braids but with your hair twisted in rows) around your head. You can pull your hair back into a low ponytail leaving out a few pieces. You can connect ponytails to eachother around your head. I know that sounds confusing, but I have seen it look great. You get a small section of hair, starting at the very front, or around your bangs. You put in an elastic. You make another sectioned ponytail. You make a few more, and you connect them together. I don't know exactly how it's done, but it looks fantastic. If I can find a pic, I will add it here. If my head weren't so tender, I'd wear it. My hair is a whole lot longer. But you can wear it at any length.

If your hair is shoulder to armpit length you probaby are well on your way now. There's hundreds of things you can do. Messy updo's, rag curls, longer ponytails with face framing pieces pulled out. Really Long Link Your options are a lot more open. Try to have fun with it and let your creativity run wild. It will make growing your hair out less boring, and won't seem so much like it's taking forever. I hope this encourages at least someone to not give up on growing out their for now, short hair.

Your text goes hereAs I was saying on my last blog entry, you can definetly grow your hair really long even if you have young kids to take care of.

When my son was just a few week old I somehow got a crazy idea that I should chop my then, 5 or 6 inches past shoulders hair cut to just an inch or so below shoulders and layered. It looked really cute, trendy and such. But, it just wasn't me. I got all of the bad ends trimmed off and liked it for a little while. Then, I missed the longer hair. Time to grow it out again.

I knew I wanted to grow it out. But my biggest problem is I wind up getting bored of it coloring, and trying to add my own layers, fringe to the front and sides trying to change my look. I always change my mind. Anyway, that is another blog. My second problem, keeping it pulled up and looking cute, sexy, and girly, and not homely looking. I looked up long hair and there doesn't seem to be much style help for us really long hair people. Unless you want to do braids. I don't really like braids too much. I did change a messy buns up do and make it my own. It's two buns twisted on either side with pieces coming out. I have worn it twice or so and gotten compliments on it. I also like a messy single bun.

Ponytails are kind of boring to me, as are a plain half up. I guess it also depends on how you do it. I am going to add pictures to this blog of what I am coming up with once I figure out how to do it. I also like two high or low pony tails kind of towards the back of the head, with a couple pieces of hair left out. I use medium and small claw clips and pins to do some of these styles. And scrunchies. I would love to use hair sticks (I have seen beautiful hairsticks) but they always hurt my head. That's very frustrating since they can be so elegant. Ficarres are also a great option for some other updo's. But, again, they hurt my head. So I can't get away with them.

My very long hair blog

July 17th 2008 00:08
II have always been in awe of really long hair. Not 6 inches past the shoulders, which is kind of long. But, really long hair-waist length on down to tail bone and beyond. I've never had longer than waist length until the last couple of years.

I was in my late teens when it was about waist length or a little longer. I was dumb enough to get a perm....I was never good at handling a perm with longer hair though...Dumb, and what a waste!

Fast forward to when my son was around 3. Yep, I grew it out again, successfully, with a toddler and young grade schooler to take care of. I have ideas on growing hair out when you have little ones to chase after. You CAN still grow it out, and nicely too. So there! I'll have to do a
separate blog on that one. I will have to add some pics to show the hair history when I figure out how.

on Breastfeeding in public

July 19th 2008 07:06
Youranter-you have got to be kidding? Offended at the mere thought that a mother is simply feeding her little one especially if she's covered. WHatever.
I've only had positive encounters when "in the act." I've had all ages (mostly late 20's on) come up to me and compliment me for doing it, saying it was great to see a mom doing it. I am very discreet too. I would not just let everything come out and have no coverage. America has breasts so overly sexualized-it's pathetic. Way to go for breastfeeding moms and the people who actually still have the ability to know breasts for what God intended them-feeding infants/babies/toddlers.

on Growing Your Hair Long (2)

I think longhair can look great at any age. Look at Jane Seymour for example. Cher's hair has always looked great. I know of a celeb names Joy Bisco, who is in her 30's, and she herself is beautiful-so is her hair that goes to her behind. She was part of my inspiration as a matter of fact.
Don't fall into the trap of getting it trimmed every 6 weeks, it really doesn't need to be trimmed quite that often. A couple times a year max. Unless your hair is extremely dry at the ends and your efforts to try and get moisture into it have not helped the condition. Two times a year in fact. The salon has us trained that we "must" go in and have our hair cut every 6-8 weeks to grow it out healthy. Ha! How are you going to grow it out if you are always cutting it?

It's great to read at least one blog suggesting that it's great to keep long hair after 20.
