Serene - by Blossom

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen, nor touched ... but are felt in the heart.I suppose that's what this blog is all about. Bringing people together through poetry and life's experiences. The beauty of the world has two edges they say, one of laughter, one of anguish. The beauty of it all is our ability to make anguish the center of our lives or laughter the center of our lives, either way its a pretty easy decision to make.

Confidence

Although our transit through the cobblestones of life may be short
its richness can be determined by the courage we purport
by the underlying strength we possess

Most times this strength of character is trampled nonetheless
by individuals that have made themselves adjudicators of our lives
they scrutinize our every step
awaiting any moment of weakness
no matter how paltry it may seem

If you were to discern
that these were people who hated their lot in life
people who felt small and insignificant
people life has cheated upon
people who feel cheated by life
people who have no one to love and care for them
people that have never experienced the act of love and devotion
people that judge and scrutinize you, not because they hate you, but because they are afraid of how good you are
perhaps you'll look at them differently
just as you would a dog, yelping for your attention
begging for your love with big trusting eyes
begging for a piece of that left over pizza
because who they say you are is not who you really are
but who they are they see in your eyes.

My imperfect perfect whole

March 26th 2010 04:52

When i was younger
I simply was never able to fathom why people needed the presence of somebody else in their lives
why they needed commitment
why they needed to have sex
why they felt the need to fall in love
why they needed someone who'll hold their hands through the storms of life
someone who'll whisper the words "its alright"
in a circumstance they cannot salvage

I used to think you can be strong...
when you're strong you aren't weak
if your are not weak you wouldn't need to rely on somebody else
you wouldn't need to

If you don't rely on another person
life can be pretty easy
nothing ties you down
you just up and go as pleases you

You see
I was right
the only problem with that theory i have to point out is
no matter who you are
no matter how self-sufficient you may be
we were just never meant to be alone
i cannot believe I'm saying this
truth be told its taken me a while to realize this simple fact

we are social creatures
we have to connect
we feel the need to connect
to need someone and be needed by someone
the moment you don't feel the need for another person in your life
the moment you lose the capacity to understand and appreciate the presence of people in your life
the moment you do not feel the need to be there for another person in your life
then there really isn't any need to live

So...
if you have someone special in your life
hold their hands, hug them and assure them of your presence in their life
if you don't have anyone
always remember the most important person to be is yourself
love and appreciate every positivity in your life
and when you least expect it
you'll find your imperfect perfect self
cos let's face it
life is just too precious to spend all by yourself

The Green-eyed monster

Green-eyed monster
Happiness to some people is scaling mountains, to others its having mountains of cash.To still others its having a big family or independence. And to yet another kind of people its being needed, being loved.

Some very sad people just love the thrill and satisfaction of controlling, dominating and making other people's lives a living hell.

We can never understand what makes people do things or put simply what has made a person the way they are. When you meet a person there isn't a manual on how to handle them. No body has "handle with care" written on their foreheads or "dangerous substance, beware", what we do have is a modern society which has laws governing the way we treat each other, what we should say to each other, norms and etiquette's. If there is ever a breach of that policy, there are severe repercussions.

If this law ever turns its back on the society even for a moment, our perfectly poised selves will turn into green eyed monsters ready to crush anyone on our paths.

Who ever said our society doesn't influence us and determine who we become must be an absolute joke.
