Seeing Florida part 5

Welcome to the Seeing Florida blog series, day 5.
This first set of photos is from Treasure Island Beach on the Gulf of Mexico. Treasure Island is in Pinellas County west of Tampa, south of Clearwater. These were during some late summer afternoon storms and it caused an impressive waterspout that lasted for quite some time. Waterspouts are quite a common occurrence around here. Fortunately not many of them ever actually come up onshore.
The second set of photos is of what I believe to be a Great Blue Heron enjoying a beautiful sunset. I say I believe it’s a Great Blue Heron because I am not a bird expert so I’m just taking the best of my knowledge at this one. These birds are pretty fearless and won’t run away from you unless you really scare it away. It’s common to see them sneak up behind people fishing on the beach and steal baitfish right out of their buckets. This picture was taken at John’s Pass on the Treasure Island side.
The third picture is from Walt Disney World’s Epcot Theme Park. It is a fountain in the Imagination Pavilion section of the park. I believe it’s called the Epcot Imagination Sculpture Fountain. You will also probably notice in the lower left corner a watermark that says 2011 Mainline Productions. This was just me coming up with a ‘name’ for myself and experimenting with and learning how to do watermarks. It is me but I’m not a professional photographer and this is not a real company. At least not real by me. I did do an Internet search and there is an actual company by that name. I will have to invent a different name for myself I suppose.
The waterspout and bird photos were taken with my Canon Powershot a720is. The fountain was taken with my Canon EOS D30. See you tomorrow...
