Welcome to the third installment of my Seeing Florida blog series. Today’s set of pictures comes from Disney’s Boardwalk and Disney’s Downtown areas in Orlando Florida. I have just recently got my son and I Disney World passes and I’m sure more and more of these blog posts will feature much from that region. There is certainly much to see and explore in that area.
This first picture is from Disney’s Boardwalk and it’s just one section of it and this part has resorts and the ESPN restaurant, as well as other places to eat. This is a really nice area and it just feels “rich”. Disney water taxi’s come and go and take you to theme parks and other resorts as well.
This second picture is of a Sea Serpent made of Lego’s that sits in the water in Downtown Disney. There are other Lego creations around there as well that are pretty amazing. I will have to save those for a future blog.
The third picture is of the Planet Hollywood restaurant in Downtown Disney. It is the largest Planet Hollywood restaurant in the world and after a little research I came across a website on the Internet that says this was the largest restaurant in the world at one time. We did go in and eat and it is pretty big, no doubt. Surprised me to hear that is was the biggest restaurant in the world though.
Downtown Disney also features the largest character store in the world. We went in there and it has so many different rooms and sections. And of course as you would expect, very busy as well. These pictures were taken during the week between Christmas and New Year’s, which just so happens to be the busiest time of year for Disney as well. Very hectic. The only place that seemed to avoid the crazy crowds was the Disney Boardwalk.
All three of these photo’s were taken with my Canon Powershot a720is.
See you tomorrow….
