See You At The Pole
September 22nd 2010 01:08
Tomorrow, September 22, 2010, marks the historic twentieth anniversary of the annual prayer rally known as See You At The Pole. Although initially designed for students, this year's event will take place at churches and other locations across the nation in addition to numerous school campuses. More information about the history of See You At The Pole and this year's event can be obtained through the official See You At The Pole Website, http://www.syatp.com.
Each year See You At The Pole prayer rallies are focused around a central theme from scripture. The 2010 See You At The Pole theme is Matthew 6:9-13, the passage known to many Christians as The Lord's Prayer. This passage of scripture is a model given by Jesus to his disciples instructing them in how they should pray.
"After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."
-Matthew 6:9-13 (King James Version)
