Security luggage tags

Okay this is some handy information i learnt just by speaking to people in luggage shops.
If you are travelling to the US pay particular attention. Apparently if your bag gets picked whilst going through customs, and the airport customs do not have the key to unlock your bag they will just cut it open, and you will have to buy new locks for your bag.
A way of avoiding this is to purchase TSA approved locks, however each time you check your luggage in at the airport you have to notify the person that your bags have TSA approved locks. If they do not label your bag with something that says its a TSA lock the customs officers will cut the lock anyway. The US customs have keys to open your TSA lock, to avoid damaging your property.
Another handy tip, is if you cannot afford these TSA locks, there are little luggage snap locks that you can buy in fluro colours. You just clip it onto your zipper and it can only be used once. If you go to pick up your bag and the snap lock has been broken, do not touch your luggage. Notify customs at the airport immediately.
Hope this info was helpful
Cheers
