Scream (Dream? Ghost?)

September 18th 2006 06:10
Hello everyone,

Usually after a nice relaxing weekend one feels rather relaxed... Although my weekened was certainly nice and realxing it ended in a rather mysterouse way.

Last night between 11-12 at night, i woke to my blood curdling screams. Apprantly i had been screaming for at leat 1-2 minutes contiously and i figure it must have been the sound of my own screaming that woke me up.

My parents rushed into my room and while mum tried to loacte the light switch dad tried to comfort me. He found me up and kneeling on my knees.

I had no recollection of even being awake, let along of moving. When i finally woke up, i was shaking and finding it very difficult to breath and just clung onto my parents, refusing to move. After some time of 'it was just a dream, shh, nothing to worry about' i finally calmed down, but opted to sleep in the guest room instead of my own bed.

Maybe whatever had scared me was still lingering nearby...Just waiting till i was alone...but if it was some supernatural being than why would it wait till i was alone...surlely it could jsut confront me in front of everyone.....and why would it necessarily wait till dark? Why not light? What was there? Was there anything? I tried to remember if i had dreamt, but as i had only been sleeping for an hour or so i did not think i had entered the REM stage of sleep. Plus i do not think you can physically move and walk about in your REM sleep...

This is a complete mystery to me, why would i wake up screaming when i did not have any nightmare, and why would i be scared out of my mind upon waking when i did nto even know i was screaming in the first instance?

Was there some spirt or some supernatural being trying to take over my body and i was trying to throw it off... this could expalin why i was kneeling wihtout even knowing that i was awake.....

If anyone else out there has had a similar experience, i would greatly appreciate if they can share their experience with me and help shed some light on this...

Perphas it was only a dream, perphas i had been asleep longer than i thought and did actually have a nightmare......but it would have been a very very frightning nightmare and would i really have absoultly no recollection of the dream upon waking? I could forget the dream if i had been awake for some time; a few minutes, a few hours....but a few seconds?

I guess only time will tell....until than this is an unsolved (real life) mystry.
