Science Fiction Novel: The Galaxy Defenders- The Sun Knight (Prologue)

Character: Emily Clarkson
Twenty one years old, Emily was floating in middle of space, she was wearing her battle suit, in some way, her battle suit make her look like a transformer. There was a drop of tear in her eye, in front of her there was the entire army, of Sarsota Empire, pushing its way towards earth. The Sarsota Empire, is known for its ruthlessness, once they conquest a planet, they enslave the indigenous population, work them to death, mining out the planet’s natural resources. Once that is done, they nuke all life form of the planet, out of existence.
Emily knows that she is the only one that can stop this Empire advancing towards earth, she volunteered for this mission. Her comrades oppose her decision,
“You know that you won’t survive, nobody can possible channel that level of energy and survive.” Emily remembered Peter saying, he didn’t wanted to see her go. Peter is the commander of the Galaxy Defender and received the honourable rank of three stars General within the US army.
“You know, there are, no choice. Just don’t let me die in vain.” Emily replied to Peter’s comment.
Peter knows what Emily said is true and sighed “In that case, we carry on, as you plan. Good luck, Colonel.” Peter struggled to say, the two of them have been comrades for years and fought numerous battles together, side by side.
Now, Emily stood here in mid space. The rest of the Galaxy Defenders were drawing Sarsota army’s attention away from Emily. The Sarsota battle cruisers opened fire upon the Galaxy Defender’s main force. The Galaxy Defenders, who mastered the unique skills of their battle suits, create an enormous force field blocking off the attack and in the same time, they fire their pistols towards the Sarsota ships at the speed of light. The Galaxy Defenders’ pistols are extremely powerful and were able to take down numerous Sarsota battle cruisers and fighter, launched from the carriers from behind. But Emily knows that it is just a matter of time, until the Galaxy Defender force became over run, by Sarsota army’s overwhelming number. After all, the Sarsota Empire’s invasion force has over 12000 battle cruisers, 4000 carrier, 520000 fighters and over 30000000 troops. The Galaxy Defenders on the other hand, has less than 100 troops and is earth’s only defence against this huge army. The Galaxy Defenders are some of the best warriors within the galaxy and their weapons are renown to be amount the best within the galaxy, also, but it take a life time for the Galaxy Defenders to be so good, many of them have been doing this since they were still children and their weapons are extremely difficult and costly to make. It doesn’t matter, how well trained and equip the Galaxy Defenders are, considering the numbers within the two opposing army, it is just a matter of time, till they are been over run.
The Sarsota force who was busy engaging in battle with the rest of the Galaxy Defenders, didn’t notice Emily. That was the plan, the other Galaxy Defenders was to draw the Sarsota forces’ attention away from Emily and so that Emily can have a clear and definite shot, to wipe out the entire Sarsota army. Emily is the only one with the ability to launch an attack of this scale.
“Computer, inform me when the Sarsota force is in perfect range.” Emily said to the computer, of her battle suit.
“Sarsota force is in ranger in three minutes.” The computer replied
Emily took one deep breath and knows that it is time. She took a photo out of the pocket of her battle suit. It was the photo of a baby, her baby son, who she only gave birth to, three month ago.
“I am sorry Cody, mommy love you. I only wish I can see you grow up.” Emily whispered
With that, Emily putted the photo back into her pocket
“Two minutes until the Sarsota army is in perfect range.” The computer said.
“That is it, Emily, you only got one shot, don’t mess this up.” Emily whispered to herself, with that she started channelling the sun’s energy to her battle suit, using the skills she know so well, to use her battle suit, to manipulate the sun’s energy. The heat within her battle suit started to rise to over five hundred degree, Emily used alien technology to transform her body, to something that can withstand extreme heat, but even so, it doesn’t change the fact the human body still has its limitations.
“One minutes until the Sarsota army is in perfect range.” The computer said
“Good, ignore the pain, keep on charging energy to the battle suit.” Emily thought herself.
“Warning, Sun Knight Battle Suit, power overloaded.” The computer started saying
Emily ignored the computer’s warning and kept charging the battle suit, with energy from the sun.
“Warning, Sun Knight Battle Suit, power overloaded.” The computer kept saying.
Emily kept ignoring the computer’s warning.
“Sarsota army in perfect ranger, in 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0” the computer said
With that, Emily fired her most deadly blow of energy attack towards the Sarsota army. “Sun Power Strike!!!” Emily yelled out code word, to launch the energy attack. The energy attack, wiped out half of the Sarsota force, in less than a second, some of the further away Sarsota ships, was been melted by the heat, of the energy attack. The massive energy attack, continued to strike the Sarsota force and what is left of the Sarsota force, was in complete chaos.
Within the Galaxy Defender’s main army, Peter know it is time. “NOW!!!” Peter yelled, with that, three Galaxy Defender battle cruisers came into existence from behind, opening fire upon, the still chaotic Sarsota force, causing massive damage, then the three battle cruisers transforming into three giant combat robots, GDS Ocean King, GDS Thunder God and GDS Dragon Knight. They were joined by three United States Battle cruisers, USS Abraham, USS Washington and USS Eisenhower. Apart from the Galaxy Defenders, the United States is the only nation on earth that have weapon of this kind, but it is costly and they can only afford to have three of these ships.
“Fire at will!!!” Peter yelled, with that, the United States Air Force and the Galaxy Defenders open massive attacks against the still chaotic Sarsota force and a few minutes later, Peter knows it is time to take things up a notch. “Charge!!!” Peter yelled. With that, the entire Galaxy Defenders force and the American forces attack, cutting down the remaining Sarsota army like weeds.
Still floating in space, at a distance away, Emily watch the plan successfully worked out, the large energy attack injured her greatly and her battle suit is not functioning properly anymore, her brain has been damaged and she could no longer think clearly. Emily smiled weakly and gently.
“Warning, sun knight battle suit, malfunctions.” The computer within Emily’s battle suit started saying, a few seconds later it exploded, with the power of at least six atomic bomb nuclear explosions.
Within the battle field, the Galaxy Defenders and US Air Force, who has now neutralized the Sarsota army, watch the death of their comrade who sacrificed her life, to save her planet. Onboard the USS Eisenhower, Lieutenant General Clark Michael Lawson and his men, saluted Emily for her bravery. Emily is the only earth casualty of this war, but without her, victory could not have been achieved.
