saturday 21st - 3000m race
ran at illawong - good new track, very spongy. felt strong, ran in the new spikes which ended up being good, and tights because it was cold and windy. as soon as the gun went it was as if a weight was lifted and i could run fast - this weeks crap training was gone. felt really comfortable throughout and could finish strong in the last km.
time wasnt so good because of the extremely windy back straight and the fact that it was like running fartlek. id contsantly be focusing on catching up to someone to hide behind in the back straight into the wind and so i didnt pay much attention to the splits. without any wind and being able to focus on the times, i think that was worth a sub 9:40 easially. most people were 25-30 seconds behind their estimated time, so it looks good.
