An exercise for everyone

December 30th 2010 09:03

When most people think of what it takes to get into shape, most think first of running exercises as the go-to method of exercise. This is true for many people; running can be a rewarding and invigorating activity for able bodied men and women. However, there are those who have bodies that simply cannot withstand the stress and pressures that are exerted on the body throughout a long distance run, or jog. The stress that is put on the knee joints alone can cause many otherwise healthy runners to give up their routine due to the pain.

There is a great deal of alternatives to running for those who are looking for a more low-impact method of exercise. The choice taken is an individual decision, obviously, but there are advantages and disadvantages to different work out routines and styles. Yoga, for instance, is an excellent form of exercise for those seeking a low-impact work out routine that will keep muscles toned and joints well lubricated. The increase in flexibility in the ligaments and tendons within the body is also a great advantage of the yoga system. Many who have been inducted into initiate yoga programs often make the complaint that yoga can be difficult to get into at first, as there are many underlying principles that are taught in yoga that many may first believe have nothing to do with maintaining health.

Swimming is an excellent alternative to running, as little to no water exercises are tough on the joints and bones. If swimming is not your strong suit, water aerobics are offered at many pool clubs. This is a great opportunity for those who are too old to safely do aerobics to continue to do so. Many high schools with swimming pools offer programs such as daily water aerobics, including an instructor. Brisk walking is a great method of staying in shape, and is not nearly as difficult on the body's joints and limbs as running can be.

Cycling is yet another incredibly popular alternative to running. Although the price point for a new bicycle is much higher than a new pair of running shoes, the benefits of cycling can outweigh the price. Not only is cycling incredibly low impact, allowing for even those with prior injuries to successfully cycle, but biking is an excellent means of transportation. Cycling does not take up nearly as much time as an equivalent running session, and will take up even less time if a bicycle is used to get around from place to place. No gas is required to use a bicycle, which is yet another plus to using one instead of a car.

Some do not experience any problems with their running routine throughout their life, despite growing into old age. However, some do thanks to injuries and other unavoidable health issues. Instead of breaking off the habit of exercise, finding a physical activity that is not nearly as demanding is a much better avenue of approach for someone looking to rid themselves of the sore joints and body aches that they experience the day after a two mile jog. Youthful, healthy bodies sure can take a beating, but unfortunately as we grow to an elderly age our joints begin to weaken, and simply cannot support the weight of a human body while running without some degree of pain.

If your body is beginning to constantly ache and you have made it a habit of running more than twice a week, take a break from the running routine and see if the problem persists. If the problem goes away, perhaps it is time to incorporate a different exercise routine into your life. Running has its fair share of risks, including lower back problems, joint problems, and shin splints.

The Health Benefits of Hot Yoga

December 2nd 2010 11:38
This is geust post by Andrew Hall

In the world of public concern over antioxidants, body toxins, and the word "cleansing," hot yoga - yoga performed in rooms with temperatures between 85 and 110 degrees Fahrenheit - is definitely gaining popularity. While there are many different styles, the basic health benefits revolve around the belief that the body sweats out toxins when exposed to heat, which then boosts metabolism and one's immune system. Here are just a few more benefits people claim from hot yoga:

Muscle flexibility

Except for a handful of synthetic compounds designed specifically not to break under cold temperatures, most things are considerably less flexible in cold environments, muscles included. As a result, in hot yoga, one's muscles are hypothetically more flexible as they're literally warmed up, potentially boosting one's range of motion, aiding injury recovery, and helping to prevent accidental injuries when exercising.

hot yoga

The heat from hot yoga makes the body increase its pulse without heavy joint impact. It also helps to bring down chemicals in the body that help a body retain fat that are related to stress, and may help to boost metabolism through thyroid stimulation. This combination of factors makes it potentially easy for the body to shed pounds faster when doing hot yoga than when not.

Joint lubrication

As one ages, the body becomes less flexible and able to recover from injuries. By doing yoga, one activates groups of muscles and moves bones that might otherwise go ignored, which can help fight and delay the onset of arthritis, muscle, and joint pain brought on by the natural processes of aging and joint impacts brought on by work and life in general.

Immune system performance

By participating in hot yoga one brings up their core temperature beyond what the body normally self-regulates, which then makes the body act as if it's undergoing fever conditions when perfectly healthy. This, then brings up white blood cell counts and stimulates the immune system, which in turn makes it harder for the body to undergo actual illness, which is obviously a good thing and an easy way for hot yoga to extend one's general well-being and life expectancy.

Stress reduction

It's been said for decades that exercise and meditation can help one reduce the amount of stress in one's life. Hot yoga requires that the mind put stress factors out of the way in order to pose successfully; this in turn helps the body to lose weight (or not gain it, as the chemicals that retain fat move less quickly and at lower levels), sleep better, lower the heart rate and blood pressure, and possibly benefit one's mood. While high stress can occasionally make the body perform better, it often proves much tighter and harder to work well, making lower stress (with all its many, many benefits upon one's mental and physical function) something worth pursuing for just about everyone and a definite reason to consider hot yoga.

Brain tumor is  abnormal growth inside the brain. Brain tumor can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). First, it's important to know that brain tumors are not common. While studies show that more people are being diagnosed with brain tumors, it remains to be an uncommon occurrence.

Usually, benign tumors can be removed, and they seldom grow back. However, benign tumors can press on sensitive areas of the brain and cause serious health problems

Dizzeness is very unpleasant symptoms ....I'm sorry that you have to experience it very often like that ...

stugerone is a good drug it work for both central ( neural ) or perephral dizzenes ( the one caused by ear problem ) ,Its from the sam family as serc both have the same mode of action both as effective ...rarely we combine the two drugs if patient symptoms not controlled with a good dose of one of them ...

However , Mal de Debarquement patients usually don't respond to anti vertigo meds......but in the letriture they always advice to go through vestibular rehabilitation and Tai chi techneques..but it is as you said we don't have effective data about this condition....

I really wish u to get well soon....

This is just a cover story about paint ball guns and people armed with knives...there were many journalist on those ships ...and soon they will report about the truth.

I also watch some of the international news and see how some people interviewed blame the victims who got killed that they brought on themselves and they deserve what they got....Although Israel is the aggressor here when they sent a trained soldiers attacking the ships from every direction ...in international waters
