Unfair Visa Application!

November 5th 2007 05:05
I am taking my vacation leave and planned to have my vacation elsewhere. I was at first interested to go to US to visit my cousin and to shop since the prices here in Turks and Caicos Islands is sky high!

I already have an appointment with the embassy but my one problem is I need to have a Bahamian visa to get through to Bahamas for the interview. Sounds easy? Oh, no! And the funny part is you have to go to Miami to get a Bahamian Visa!!!! Haler?!?! How will I get through Miami on the fact that I am going to go to their country (Bahamas) to get a US visa?!?

It is so frustrating! I have to reschedule my appointment 4 times! You read it right! Four times (pray that it will not affect my US visa application)! I have been waiting for the Bahamian visa since October and until now I did not receive anything. I've tried calling Bahamas government and I have to be transferred 25 times and call is put on hold for a very long time! Much worse than buying online and disputing their product!!! They do not have special cases department to help expats in this kind of situation where in fact they are gaining a lot from hiring us.

I then tried checking out non US territories and still found out that I need a visa to enter their country since I am a third world citizen eventhough I can spend more than the average tourist. And everything will all come back to the the funniest part of all that I have to go to Miami or some other parts of the US to get visa to enter their country?!?!

Well up until now I am still waiting for the visa. Either my agent is not good or there is really a very big problem on racial discrimination here.

Do you know any country that does not require a visa (a visa free country) to enter the country for tourists? Or countries that are willing to help tourist get the visa since I will be coming to their country to spend my hard earned money? If you do, please let me know asap as I do not want to spend my vacation on grovelling and fuming over how lame the government system is (whether it is my government or not).

Zip Code

November 3rd 2007 04:06
I have just read one of our writer's column about adsense and making money. I had gone to the trouble of creating a new account, signing up for this and that but to no avail, I cannot complete the registration since I do not have a zip code.

It does not make sense to me that they have listed our country and yet they do not have the information that we do not use postal code or zip code since everybody practically knows everybody in this tiny (but beautiful by nature island) and we are not a US territory. Normally, we use BWI which stands for British West Indies if we send fedex or ups. I am not sure why it is not accepting either BWI or 00000-000 since it is an international country.

Can anyone help me? Anyone who has access to adsense? Or anyone who has access to Internaltional Post office Federation or something because, frankly, we receive USPS packages here without the zip code since they are aware of our situation.

Anyone, Please help!

WHY..MY OH...MY...?

December 3rd 2006 16:35
I love reading other writer's post yet, everytime I try to comment on their post, orble always asks me to log in where in fact I am already logged in! I tried refreshing the page or clicking back but still, orble will ask me to log in. I will again log in and when I try to check on the writers or the blogs or even my orble, the system will again ask me to log in which delays everything I do and almost pisses me off coz I lose the opportunity to interact with the other orblers and post a blog!

I know we do not have any patient meter wherein we could check our patience every now and then. But how can you justify this situation?

Gosh! I never knew my first time would be like this! I was excited...agitated...elated.....uneasy...my palms are sweating ( I think I am sweating all over)...my minds are racing as to what I would do...what others might say...what they would think about me and the disposition that I am in right now

Damo,

Oh my God! with the letter alone, I am on the edge standing on a rocking ground! I did not bother to ask for an invitation letter because I wanted to surprise my cousin and don't want her to put in a position where her green card application will be at stake although she is in the US for 5 years already. I have read in the visa section that they will treat our cases individually but I still do not want anything happen to my cousin's application.

Hmmmm...I guess this will be 1000% luck...I am still optimistic on this application.

Your advice was great! I will also confer with my agent. Hopefully, this time, he knows what he's doing.

Fog,

I can be the terrorism if they don't issue me the visa...hahahha... Anyway, true, there should be not much problem since I will only want to visit and spend (you bet!) and hopefully, with my changing of agent I will no longer wait for one century to pass by...

Damo,

Sure there are, Haiti for one accepts tourists without prior visa application. You just have to pay$25 at the airport (Cap Hatien) before you go through immigration.

But my dear, I wanted to go to a city! Feel the city once again.

If I go to Singapore, it will at least take me one and a half days to travel by plane from Providenciales to Singapore...Nice, huh?

Don't worry....I am still fighting. I won't stop until I succeed! Yipee...

Give me more Orble Fighting spirit!

Hi Fog!

Hmmm...I have dreamed about Sidney and Melbourne since I was a child...but...sad to say, we NEED visa to enter your beautiful "foggy" country...ahihihi.. Besides, I will still have to go through Miami or Washington DC to apply for a visa! How ridiculous, really. It is because the closest embassy from the beautiful by nature Turks and Caicos Islands to all those countries is in the US. Imagine, inorder for me to renew my passport (if in worst cases that it expires while I am here in TCI) I have to submit all my documents in the nearest consulate which is in Washington DC! So before I have my passport renewed, I am already deported for carrying an expired passport! Hahahahaha. Silly.

Kidding aside, I think wherever I go whether it is an Asian country or not, being from the 3rd world country, I am not allowed to enter other countries without getting a visa. As much as I have dreamed of carrying a British passport or a US passport, I still cannot deny and will not denounce my citizenship (that's why there are a lot of patriots who died...hehehe). But if I can get a dual citizenship, why not?! But until then, I will have to wait until the snail reaches the barbie!

I will surely keep all of you informed as soon as I have ground breaking news on this.

on Do Blog Friendships Survive Out of The Or-bubble?

Hi Dusk!

I'm back in the Orble world!

I really have a lot of catch up reading to do.

Anyway, why don't we (Orblers) meet? Worldwide might be a little out of the picture, but maybe, Orblers of the same country can meet together?

Hahaha...I don't think there is any Orbler in my place, in this beautiful by nature island. But if there is any chance that I could meet up with other Orblers, I would love to have that once in a lifetime chance. A chance to unmask my self and be with people who are unmasked like me!

Don't go, it is her fault if she did not understand that it 's on a political view of an attorney and not as a personal hate or prejudism to any religion at all. It is not good to include your parents in this as well. Her parents might be more ashamed for what she has done. Such a childish act.

Stay and you will see that she is the only one out of the million/s (?) of writers in orble that has that kind of attitude.

on PHAART ART!!!

November 5th 2007 05:28
You made me laugh today!

It is so funny how our generations can create such lingo just like the PHAT GIRLS movie.

Going back to the topic, it is really frustrating to see the world of art fall down to this level. I am a great fan and a slave at that as well but sometimes I see crazed priced art-lings with no real value at all. At first I thought I am not a great fan of a particular art genre but then again it does not even qualify as art. Just like music that some claims but in truth are just shouting and cursing backed up by violent drums and percussions.

I think as a contribution to the art world, I will ask a 10 month old baby swim in a tub of water colors or oil paints and then place them on top of a canvass and let them smear the whole canvass and then inform everybody that it is the baby's work of art!

on Earning Money as an Orble Writer

Thanks guys. Well, when I tried deleting the 00000-000 something pops out of the zip code portion and somehow it ridiculously abbreviated Turks and
Caicos Islands.

Luckily, if I do get paid from Adsense, my paycheck will reach me safely.

Another question, I've read from the Adsense forum that writers are having some issues with regards to the payments and contacting the management. Has anybody from the group actually made bucks from AdSense and did not have any problem whatsoever from them?

I have tried signing up an account in adsense but it will not accept my application since i do not have a postal code. What can I do? I live in an island that does not require postal code since everbody knows everybody. Kidding aside, Turks and Caicos Islands does not have a postal code. In fedex, we only use BWI which stands for British West Indies.

Can someone help me on how I can proceed with my application for an adsense account? It does not make sense to me, they have listed our country yet they do not know that it does not have zip code.
