Jeanne, it seems that the Christmas season brings back memories of friends. So I decided to stop by and see what you were up to.

All the best in the New Year.

Hi Jeanne, it kept bothering me that I had been unable to reply. Just hope you had a very blessed holiday.

on Grow Through the Writing Life

Jeanne, in the last month I was not able to write much because of work projects and family Christmas celebration. I recently posted three blogs and it just made me feel good inside. There's a great satisfaction in writing when you feel that a piece is ready to post.

I've not written an ebook, and like you I've had the desire. But to do it, I have to make it more than a good intention and schedule time in on my weekly calendar to ensure that I follow through.

Have a Happy New Year!

I often enjoy using a quote as a theme for a blog. The author says it in few words and I take the thought to expand in relation to my knowledge and experience.

While I do not do that every time I write it is a great way to launch your ideas now and again.

Thanks for excellent insights.

I am tagging you for a meme to reveal seven things about yourself that others do not know. This is about my fifth response to this meme and I'm taking the challenge of this one just to help Jan Curry launch a new blog. I'm posting it this afternoon.

on A Cure for Blogging Guilt?

March 21st 2009 00:56
Hi Jeanne, I think we've all been in the same boat in not being able to do all that we might want to accomplish in our work and blogs. In my mind this is a great tool not only to avoid guilt, but also to beat stress that we might encounter.

Jeanne, you are so encouraging. Gives me inspiration. Do you think with high stakes, you push and stretch your skills more?

on The Glass Woman Prize: New Contest Opens Today

Hi Jeannie, I've never really entered a contest before, but I am working on some memoirs. Women like Jill Ker Conway made this medium sing. I also love Jung Chang's White Swans because it looks at the women of three generations. I'm currently trying it on for size, since I have some very amazing women in my lineage.

Might just try it on for size. Thanks.

Jeanne, I am very humbled that you highlighted my post, "As a Writer, I Can," here on Writer's Notes. Perhaps part of my problem in thinking I wasn't that great a writer is that I didn't have enough skills. But when I adopted the manta, "I think I can," and just kept learning and applying new strategies, they grew.

Blogging raised the bar for me. I really learned to "converse with my readers" as I write and I imagine what they might say in our conversation.

Thanks so much for the inspiration you open as a sweet aroma here on Writer's Notes.

Jeannie, I, too, had been busy and wanted to see what you were up to. It was thrilling to see that you, too, had composed an entry for Brad's contest.

Hi Jeannie, whew, we're past the problem and all is well.

That makes me feel good. Thanks for looking into the problem and giving more insights as to what you learned.
