E-Commerce Solutions

So you want to open your own eCommerce shop? Want to sell prints or homemade crafts or be a wholesale reseller?
ecommerce themes and templates

Your Website is going to BE your store. And you have LOTS of options when it comes to choosing a service or web host to create your storefront. Choose carefully, since you'll (you hope) be selling a lot of product and be using the checkout/ shopping cart system every day. You want the service to be as expandable as possible.

Option 1: 3dcart
3dcart is another excellent value, offering a graduated scale of services starting at $20/mo.
What makes 3dcart different from the others is its use of built-in social networking to increase traffic. 3dcart creates a Facebook store and integrates Twitter and Search Engine Optimization into ever e-store.

Option 2: Vendio
Vendio is another easy-to-use service for creating an online store. The work is done for you, and all you have to do is choose a domain name, a site theme, and upload product images and specifications: prices, shipping, etc. Vendio is FREE to set up, but costs $20/mo to add "marketplace SKU's = you can sell up to 200 products on Ebay and Amazon.

Option 3: Amazon WebStore
An Amazon WebStore offers the advantage of immediate traffic. If your product stands out, and your price is better than anyone else's, you stand a good chance of making money quickly. The caveat with using Amazon Webstore is that although you can create a store for as little as $25/mo., if you want to sell in the Amazon Marketplace, the cost increases to about $50/mo. 6-8% transaction fees.

Option 6: Big Commerce
Big Commerce's interface is easy, and although a commercial product/service, you won't be disappointed in the price or support. Making money online is fast and easy with BigCommerce. Check it out.

Option 5: Your own Setup with OSCommerce, ZenCart, or a mishmash of WordPress, Joomla! or another site shopping cart

You can always build your own site with your own domain, hosted by one of the many web hosts available online. If you can code in HTML, PHP, CSS and/or one of the many web languages, you might be able to set up a comparable store. However, the services above offer too many advantages, especially when it comes to traffic, to create a store from scratch if you're not already skilled at such.

Google Voice

June 4th 2011 13:34
Try Google Voice

Google Voice is Google's entry into the world of VOIP - sort of. It's an alternative to the mega-conglomerate Skype. It competes against Skype and Oovoo, and even Vonage and magicJack.
Google, Voice, voip, phone
Call any phone with Google Voice

Google's version is interesting. instead of making calls from your desktop or laptop (which you can do), Google sort of hijacks your phone - your cell phone, home phone, any phone - I'd guess even a Vonage or magicJack phone, too. You place a call on your Google Voice page, your phone rings, you pick it up, and then Google connects to the number you've entered in Google Voice. Interesting.

The only downside I've found is that there's not a good APP for it on my smart phone. If there were, I'd stop downsize my minutes and get rid of texting and do it all through the app. I'd pay decent money for an app that would do all that.

Use JAlbum for Gallery Sites

JAlbum (@ jalbum.net)

I found JAlbum right after I'd spent 8 hours configuring a WordPress install to show artwork. I had to fight through watermarking to prevent downloads of prints; after I'd spent hours configuring a paypal plugin/widget to make a shopping cart

Virtual "Boxes" "Terminals" and "Appliances"

Like many of you, I have become gradually aware of "virtual" ware. In a world of terminals, clients, and other strange terminology for slimmed down hardware, virtualware has made inroads like never before. Maybe they chose their name wisely. The "virtual" world is a popular place to be. Without "virtual" friends, many of us would be pretty lonely, virtually alone

Web Tools

It's been a while since I've published on this blog. I've gotten a little busy at work, and haven't had time to post much, but that will change soon. With all the changes forthcoming and the new hardware being released, web apps have multiplied exponentially.

More to come soon

The Team to Beat

My Dynasty Draft:

So winning the championship is great, it really is. But the terrible part about winning in 2009-2010 is that this year, I got last place in the draft. And that SUCKS! I watched Spiller, Mathews, and Bradford get picked up. (Remember, this is a dynasty league, and all the biggest 100 players are kept year-to-year. We draft for potential

Rookies Who MIGHT Make a Difference

Have you noticed how hard it is to get your daily dose of fantasy football news in the midst of the Lebron Mania? Oh yeah, and that little soccer thing over in Africa. Don't people have priorities anymore

New CRM Suite with Joomla!

July 9th 2010 01:04
Office123.net

To be honest, after using Zoho for a while, and being hooked on Google apps for quite some time, I really wasn't too enthused when an office123 guy messaged me to check it out. But he pricked my ego in just the right place, so I spent a minute there, and then another, and another

Ahhh... now, I see...there was nothing to see. Fact is, after 33 posts, I don't yet have any stars... Would someone write a formula for star-catching, please?

A link or two to posts that garnered stars would also be appreciated.

Thanks.

on Orble Editor Stars

Hi again.

Thanks for the responses. Checking the adsense $ was never a problem, although I think the directions on adding adsense stuff is a little sketchy. Is it necessary to add blogs as channels? Do I add the blogs as domains? If I just give Orble my pub.xx number, does revenue show up in my adsense account?

What I think causes some bloggers to desert their blogs is lack of timely reports on revenue. If I'm blogging for 2 months, regularly posting 3 posts/week, and after that two months see a total of $6.50 in adsense revenue, I'll jump ship. There might be $150 in my Star-revenue, but I don't know it. And since payout doesn't occur until $200, (or so I understand) that's a real shame.

Even though I blog mostly for the enjoyment, and to keep myself current, a regular reminder that it's also giving me a little residual income helps keep me going.

When I freelance, I check almost daily to see how much I'm making with my CPC articles. It's fun.

Ben

The system sounds great. I simply can't figure out where to see how many stars (if any) my posts have been given, and I'd like to know weekly or at least monthly how much (if any) revenue my blog has earned. The "Paid" link just takes you to the explanation, which tells you to go to the "stars" information on the News page, which tells you nothing at all.
Am I missing something?

on Using WordPress for More Than Blogs

Parts are DEFINITELY complicated, especially when you start trying to make page templates. But I think as WordPress morphs into a CMS, some of the complicated parts will get easier. (I hope)
