Road Asbestos
July 26th 2011 15:24
I was debating about putting this in the health blog, but because it is something natural, it'll go here!
The danger with being exposed to asbestos is that when you breath it in, the fibers act like needles and scar the lungs. Overexposure can cause Mesothelioma, a deadly cancer.
A cancer-causing mineral, called Erionite, has been found in gravel roads in the US. When the gravel is disturbed, by automobiles, the dust carries Erionite in the air, and if you breath it it has the same effect as asbestos on our lungs.
Sometimes you wander what else is dangerous around us that we have no clue about at this time?
