on The health care bill and jobs

No bread in the bread lines? Seems to me some years ago a king in France said something to the effect of "then let them eat cake" when advised the peasants were out of bread. The comment led to the French Revolution.

I am not proposing revolution with heads getting lopped from bodies and such, but we do need to take our revolution to the ballot box and hold the current crop of idiots in Washington accountable for their actions and / or inactions. We need to talk to everyone about this irresponsible government which has lied its way to Washington.

There are things in the health care bill that do need to happen but it could have been done with much less government intervention and taxpayer burden.

It has been interesting watching some of the comments on various news releases. It looks like a lot of those here-to-fore happy and contented, give me my free health care, 25 to 45 year olds are beginning to get off the koolaide and starting to smell the roses, to say it politely. They are starting to figure out free is going to cost them big time starting in another couple of years. Well, they voted for Mr. Obama so they will reap what they sowed.

Only problem is most conservatives are also tax payers ... most Obama supporters are tax takers ... so, how are they going to pay?

I think it is time to go back to buying can goods and ammunition. Much better investments than anything Wall Street has to offer today.

on The Sorry State of the Republican Party...

Those guys are so far out even the Militias are denouncing them. Your point is taken and we are probably somewhere close to common ground on that thought. Guns, extreme politics and extreme religion are an explosive mix. Look at Al Queda. I can enjoy heated rhetoric as long as it leads to the ballot box.

Hmmmm! Sorta brings back memories of Bill Clinton's forays in the Oval Office doesn't it? And to top it off, it happened in California where they cannot even keep the their state in good order but send their politicians to Washington to straighten out the rest of the country. Misery does love company doesn't it? I can't help but wonder if it was alcohol or grass or ...?

Seriously though ... you would think that political folks on both sides of the isle would be smart enough to realize that sooner of later, the media is going to get hold of poor judgement decisions and it is going public and it is going to hurt those who are legitimate in their effort to serve their country.

on Obamacare passes

Well Randy, I have no doubt the indiscretions attributed to the Tea Partiers were the result of Acorn and SEIU thugs imbedded in the crowds. It really is strange that none of this type of behavior has shown up in past gatherings. It seems very coincidental the acts occurred at a time that would garner maximum negative national attention. Also strange none of the perpetrators were apprehended.

I have not really followed politics until the 2008 elections. I must say I am very discouraged that Washington is run the way it is … on both sides of the isle. We need new blood and new rules. There was a ton of disinformation coming from both sides of the isle regarding the health care debacle. And to top it off, Madam Speaker Pelosi stood up and lied through her teeth during her victory speech; of course she has had a good mentor in lying, the President. Hopefully come November we will elect a more responsible crew for Washington and they can undo the mess this administration and its Congressional lackeys have created. And I agree with you that the only way the liberal agenda can progress without going bankrupt is to kill off the baby boomers and they took the first step last night.

Enjoy your time away from the political scene. I think I will go shooting tomorrow before I have to hide my guns from the libs.

Scutttlebutt in the automotive market is China is going to end up owning GM. I wonder if the UAW negotiators will be invited to Tiananmen Square to work their magic???

Seems to me there have been several apparently responsible claims that Bill Clinton had a chance to deal with Bin Laden in or around 1997 or 1998 and he declined to act on the opportunity. If the claims are true, I think a lot of the responsibility for Sept 11 lies with Bill Clinton. And, no, I do not feel Mr. Clinton was an effective president. He was popular and did what the polls indicated the people wanted him to do, but I think he failed to keep the country strong and safe. Of course my support for Mr. Bush went out the window when he announced the decision to invade Iraq. Maybe I just expect too much.

We agree about Washington but would probably disagree about solutions. I am in favor of stong state and local governments with the Federal Government held in check by a fairly conservative interpetation of the Constitution. I feel our biggest issue in Washington is too many career politicians who are in the sights of the influence peddlers for way to long. Anyone who serves 15 or 20 years or more in Congress has lost their connection with main street and the ability to insulate themselves from the lobbyists.

The huge health insurance rate increases Mr. Obama has been ranting about started in California. Half the states have done their job and regulate insurance company rates, 25 out of 50. I bet California is not in the 25 states with such regulation.

I guess it is just my day to pick on California, sorry.

I think it is time folks started taking responsibility for their actions instead of spending so much time on who to blame. Right now, the Dems want to blame everything on Bush, the insurance companies and Wall St. and ignore the fact they were just as responsible for lax regulation and oversight as were the Repubs. I am tired of blame and rhetoric, I want to see fixes and that is going to have to start at the local level, on main street.

The tax I pay earning an income in GA should not be getting spent on building tennis courts in Wyoming, highways yes, tennis courts no.

Seems to me that folks living in California and New York should spend their time working on the numerous issues in those two states before expecting the rest of the country to allow them much credibility to deal with national problems. Mrs. Pelosi could go home tomorrow and not be missed.

Since you brought Mr. Clinton into the picture, I wonder what the Bush presidency would have been like without September 11, 2001. Perhaps if Mr. Clinton had been doing his job rather than doing the hired help that tragedy might never have happened. We will never know will we?

Actually Mike, I am disgusted with Washington. Both parties have lied and misrepresented this whole health care effort. It is not about getting health care to the masses. It is about getting the tax dollars that can be generated and using them to finance a liberal social agenda hoping no one will remember where they came from , where they went or why they were collected in the first place when Obamacare really is scheduled to kick in in 2014 or so.

Kudos to the people of Massachusetts and I hope they serve as a positive example to the rest of the country to kick out the morons that currently reside in Congress and the White House.

Irresponsible behavior has its beginnings in Donkey party and their liberal social agenda first.

It doesn't seem strange to me that the two most dysfunctional states in the country, New York and California, send the most dysfunctional politicians to Washington.

on The White House Healthcare Summit: Observations

Frankly I think the whole thing was a dog and pony show to give the President some TV time. From what I saw of the statistics, he did about one-third of the talking. I do not believe for a moment the Dems had or have any intention of listening to anyone, nor do I believe the Repubs expected anything other than politeness from the Dems. The answers lie in the middle of this mess, much closer to the middle than either side is willing to move. I think we all want to see something done about health care reform but I want to see reform in every area, not just health insurance.

In reference to the stories, all of us know a story, but the whole story is never told, only that portion which the teller wants strike a certain emotion. I question the validity of every story I have heard thus far. There are always unanswered questions. And, the Dems lie just as much as the Repubs, maybe even a little more and their lies extend all the way to the President's mouth.

Part of the issue as it appears to me is Mr. Obama's lack of practical experience in any part of the realitys of life and unfortunately he has surrounded himself with advisors who are just as dumbfounded by facts.

Thank God for the PARTY OF NO and I hope they can hold the line until next November and maybe we can get some folks with practical experience in Washington and get rid of the professional politicians.

on What Kind of Jobs?

I was visiting a client here in Atlanta this afternoon. He is an ultra liberal, pro union, retired GM assemblyline employee. Even he was slaming Mr. Obama this afternoon after singing his praises last fall. He is a bit embarrassed by his voting selection last November.

Joe Wilson was right ... Obama lies.
