Flashes of memories - MUGABE MUST GO!!! ZIMBABWEANS NEED THEIR HOME BACK

There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness - Carl Jung To be at one with God is to be at peace ... peace is to be found only within, and unless one finds it there he will never find it at all. Peace lies not in the external world. It lies within one's own soul. - Ralph Waldo Trine

restless leaves

Rings around the moon,
droplets of rainbow light
shimmer in wispy clouds,
as they dance around their god.

Shooting stars caress the dark,
orgasmic pulses of light
stroking the velvet night sky
with electric longing.

The whispered moans
of an unseen wind,
rustle the restless leaves
that lie discarded and waiting...

Waiting for that moment
when they can dance again
in the moonlit night,
and be free and alive.

Loved the poem Ash, poetic and full of imagery, but still short sharp and specific.

Love those short ones.

Hi Tammy

I am glad to hear something is lifting your spirits. I had a feeling of what you were talking about which you just confirmed in your replies on your post. It must be the most difficult part of being a parent and I pray you will find a happy ending to it all.

Hi Lara

Thanks... leaves are such wonderful parts of Mother Nature aren`t they? Sometimes I imagine them to be like giant tears being shed from the branches. Even when they have fallen they are still brought back to life by the wind... caught in a swirl and dancing once more.

siggghhh Mother Nature is grand!

Hi Ash,

*chuckle* I saw that moon, too

The whispered moans
of an unseen wind,
rustle the restless leaves
that lie discarded and waiting...

Masterful imagery.of anticipation... I can hear the silence as I wait for the gust of wind...

Beautiful my friend.

Hi K

Thanks. I have just seen you have some new poetry up.... I`m heading over. I have been browsing the web for comps... I found a mag that your poetry would be IDEAL for.... I just need to find the paper that I wrote it down on and I`ll send it your way.

I hope your babies haven`t got the terrible horse flu that seems to be causing so much havoc. Reading your post on that too!

Hi CC

Cheers! Glad you liked. Lovely evening with an inspiring sky. It has been ages since I have seen a shooting star and with all the moisture in the air the rainbow around the moon was superb.

Thank you Ash!!" Kids can bring us both the greatest joys, and the greatest heartbreak. It's just not fair. If i keep paying everything for them at these ages, they'll never be able to take care of theirselves. I wish she understood taht. I'm just thankful i don't have 3 kids hating me right now, because i certainly could. They all knew when they all where atleast 18 this would happen. And dang, it's not like we stopped paying for EVERYTHING. We still pay car payments, gas, we buy all food, and they all live rent and house bills free. Thats not sooo bad i think. Shoot, at 18 my mom threw me out on the streets, never letting any of us kids come back home no matter how tough our lives got.
Ahh, even though it hurts. i know in my heart it's the right thing to do. and one day i hope she realizes that too.

Hi Tammy

I don`t have any kids of my own so I am probably not qualified to say anything... but I speak as a child who has got everything I have because I worked for it and paid for it.

My parents helped me out when they deemed it necessary but with what I wanted, what I needed, I had to work for it. When you work for something you desire you learn to weed away the materialistic from the necessary and you learn to appreciate what you have.

I can only say that the step that you have taken may seem really harsh right now but it is only out of the best interests of your daughter and I really do pray that in the long run it will only bring you two closer together.

It may take time for her to realise what she has given up but I am sure that she will come around to it all one day. As you say you have an entire family to worry about and you cannot let one person take advantage of that.

You appear to be a very caring person Tammy who is going through so much at the moment. Just realise that even though we are virtual people we still provide you with support and love and a shoulder when you need to have an outburst.

Much love to you

Ash...

Forgive me for being tardy.

This is such a moving piece. The last stanza couldn't be more perfect, or more reflective of where I am in my life's journey right now...

Waiting for that moment
when they can dance again
in the moonlit night,
and be free and alive.

Hair-raising and tear-jerking.

....... and even though I'm tardy, it's right on time.

Hi Wendi

Ah you see you can never be tardy if you found it right on time. Your comment makes me smile, thank you for your kind words and I truly am chuffed that you found it when you needed to.

I hope you are well Wendi. I pray a big gusty old wind will come to pick you up and take you where you want to be. Sending you lots of warm hugs.

Hi Sarah

Thank you for your lovely comment - you made my head swell just a little . I used to walk around with my eyes fixed firmly ahead... and I found once I became more involved in photography and writing, as well as a little help from a friend in not taking things for granted, I started to take the time to look at the little things. We tend to miss so much in our busy lives.... stopping to smell the roses is a freebie energizer... just the same as flashing someone a smile once in a while - costs nothing but means the world.

Hugs
