Remember that guy? He's your brother.

Before my mum passed away last year, she confessed she had had a baby before marrying my father.
Up until that point I thought my mother was a virgin let alone capable of a child out of wedlock.
Upon investigation via family members I found out it was true and tried through Human Services to obtain paperwork to try and find him.
Mum must have intervened as several attempts and after numerous contacts, no promised paperwork.
I gathered information known and searched what I could to no avail but from what I knew, he was in his mid 40's and probably in USA.
Imagine my shock this week when I asked a family friend if she knew anything and she accidently dropped a name.
As it turns out, I grew up with my half brothers family.
Although i did not so much know him, I knew his other adopted siblings and parents quite well.
We had moved into the same Church district as he and his adoptive family when I was but a year old and apparently my mother did not know herself for years.
I do not know what he knows but once over the shock, through Human Services i will again try to make contact to at least let him know he has birth family wanting to make contact.
I honestly can't explain the feeling I have, but I feel a need to at least let him know he is wanted and he shares a part of me, and I would like to acknowledge him as being a part of me, that is if he wants too.
