Peyton Manning cleared to play

February 2nd 2012 23:21
Peyton Manning has been cleared to resume his NFL career by his doctors. But there is a catch, his neck is healed but his arm is not. So as far as Manning’s neck he can play but only if he can get his arm back in shape to play.

That Peyton Manning has been cleared could be big news or it could be more ammo in his escalating war with the Colts. Keep in mind Peyton Manning has nerve damage to his passing arm and is no spring chicken.

The Manning camp has proven time and again to be prone to propaganda or whatever they need to do to get their way. Manning stands to collect a lot of money from the Colts if he is on the roster after March. The Colts have shown every indication that they are moving on with Andrew Luck.

I still would bet on Peyton Manning having to retire but if he plays again it won’ be as an Indianapolis Colt. It looks like the Arizona Cardinals are the most interested team in Manning right now. Peyton Manning to Larry Fitzgerald would be interesting and after all Kurt Warner led them to a Super Bowl recently so they are not against bringing in a old veteran QB.

2012 NFL Mock Draft

February 2nd 2012 13:54
This is my updated 2012 NFL mock draft written on January the 2nd 2012. Thanks for reading my updated 2012 NFL mock draft and please check the sources below for great mock draft sites.

1 Indianapolis Colts Andrew Luck QB- Stanford

The Colts will pick and try to sign Andrew Luck if he does not force a trade with his year of eligibility remaining. It is unclear if Peyton Manning will play again and even if he does Luck is the pick for the Colts.

2 St. Louis Rams Matt Kalil OL- USC

I fully expect the Rams to trade this pick to somebody who win want to draft Robert Griffin III. If the Ram’s don’t trade the pick it will be Matt Kalil who will help protect Sam Bradford. The Rams have too much money tied up in Bradford to give up on him now.

3 Minnesota Vikings Robert Griffin III QB- Baylor

The Vikings will take RG3 if he is available but if he is gone the Vikings will draft Blackmon..

4 Cleveland Browns- Trent Richardson RB- Alabama

The Browns could go with a quarterback here if RG3 falls or may trade up for him. Failing that Richardson will revive their running game.

5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Morris Claiborne DB- LSU

I expect the Bucs to trade this pick if Barkley is on the board and somebody wants him. If they keep it Claiborne makes the most sense here in my 2012 NFL mock draft.

6 Washington Redskins Justin Blackmon WR- Oklahoma State

I think the Redskins will try to trade up for a quarterback but failing that Justin Blackman is the best offensive player on the board and they will take him.

7 Jacksonville Jaguars Riley Reiff OT-Iowa

The Jaguars would go QB if anyone slides down to them. But if not then Riley Reiff is a no brainer for the Jaguars in my updated 2012 NFL mock draft.

8 Miami Dolphins Ryan Tannehill QB-Texas A&M

Ok Tannehill is a reach here but the Dolphins need a QB unless they sign Flynn.

.

9 Carolina Panthers Quinton Coples DL- UNC

Coples is a beast who could play end or tackle and the Carolina Panthers need to give their dreadful defensive line some help.

10 Buffalo Bills Devon Still DT- Penn State

The Bills could go wide receiver here but I think they take Still who will help their defensive line for the next 10 years.

11 Seattle Seahawks Nice Foles QB Arizona

Another quarterback reach but the Seahawks are a QB away from being a pretty decent team.

12 Kansas City Chiefs Jonathan Martin OT-Stanford

The Chiefs had a great offensive line for years then it declined. Martin will be the start of its return.

13 Arizona Cardinals Dre Kirkpatrick CB- Alabama

The Cardinals score big time here by adding Kirkpatrick to team with 2011 rookie Patrick Peterson.

14 Dallas Cowboys Courtney Upshaw De-LB- Alabama

Upshaw will give the Cowboys more talent at linebacker if Dallas does not go for a defensive tackle or cornerback.

15 Philadelphia Eagles Michael Floyd WR- Notre Dame

Floyd is a good fit to replace DeSean Jackson if the Eagles let him leave as a free agent. Philly could go linebacker or offensive lineman here though.

16 New York Jets Melvin Ingram LB- South Carolina

Ingram can step in right away and help a Jets linebacking unit that got old.

17 Cincinnati Bengals (Raider trade) Kendall Wright WR- Baylor

Wright will add more pop to an already nice Bengals offense and supplement A.J. Green nicely.

18 San Diego Chargers David DeCastro G- Stanford

The Chargers snap up DeCastro the best offensive lineman on the board.

19 Chicago Bears Alshon Jeffery WR- South Carolina

Jeffery’s stock dropped due to poor quarterback play at South Carolina but he is a steal for the Bears in my updated 2012 NFL mock draft.

20 Tennessee Titans Nick Perry DE- USC

If Perry falls this far the Titans will pick him in the 2012 NFL draft to give them some pop on the defensive line.

21 Cincinnati Bengals Fletcher Cox DT- Mississippi State

Cox adds some young legs and drive to an already decent Bengals defense

22 Cleveland Browns (from Atlanta) Luke Kuechly LB-Boston College

Kuechly will help turn around an anemic Cleveland Browns defense

23 Detroit Lions Lamar Miller RB-Miami

The Lions need running backs and Miller is the best left in my 2012 updated NFL mock draft.

24 Pittsburgh Steelers Brandon Washington OG- Miami

The Steelers will go for the best offensive lineman on the board here unless there is a RB they covet.

25 Denver Broncos Jared Crick DE- Nebraska

Crick will give John Fox another defensive lineman to help rebuild the Broncos defense with. With the Broncos going to the 4-3 they need to add good defensive linemen.

26 Houston Texans Reuben Randle WR- LSU

The Texans snap up the best offensive skill player on the board.

27 New England Patriots (from New Orleans) Mark Barron SS- Alabama

The Patriots address their terrible defensive secondary with this nice Alabama player

28 Green Bay Packers Jayron Hosley DB- Virginia Tech

The old Packers secondary gets some young legs with Hosley.

29 Baltimore Ravens Dont’a Hightower LB-Alabama

Hightower is a good fit here for the Ravens who need some youth on the defense.

30 San Francisco 49ers Jerel Worthy DT- Michigan State

I kind of expect San Francisco to try to trade for Luck. Look for Worthy to be the pick here to add depth to a decent defensive line.

31 New England Patriots Whitney Mercilus DE-Illinois

An athletic pass rusher to help out the Patriots defense.

32 New York Giants Alfonzo Dennard CB- Nebraska

The Giants are a defensive minded team that needs young backs. Dennard is the best corner on the board in my 2012 NFL mock draft.

Can Obama be defeated?

January 23rd 2012 22:59
I am not sure President Obama can be defeated in 2012 due to the lack of a good candidate to oppose him. Sure many people who vote against him just to try to get him out of office and I will do the same.

But many voters will think it is hopeless and stay at home. Palin would have been a joke but at least she had a major following. The liberals like Romney because he is one of their own and they know he will continue the liberal spending of Bush and Obama.

I really liked Perry but of course he is already out of the running. Just like last election when I wanted Thompson and he was toast early. Of course I would actually have to become a Republican to vote in the primary but I would make that sacrifice to vote for somebody I really liked.

Joe Paterno has died

January 22nd 2012 15:35
Joe Paterno has passed away from lung cancer at the age of 85. Joe Paterno of course is the winningest college football coach of all time and a Penn State icon. Joe Paterno was a legend but this will now bring back the Penn State sexual abuse scandal as well.

I would say it’s a shame that Joe Paterno died under such a black cloud but he did bring it on himself. Paterno didn’t do enough to stop his assistant coach Jerry Sandusky from molesting boys and eventually Paterno was fired from Penn State

I got to thinking about what teams would be a good fit for Peyton Manning if he leaves the Colts. What teams other than the Colts that Manning may want to play for. First I don’t think Peyton Manning will leave the Indianapolis Colts, I think he is done and will retire before next season.

If Peyton Manning does return from injury I think he would play one more season for the Colts while Andrew Luck sits on the bench. I did find it interesting however that Archie Manning hinted that neither Luck nor would Peyton Manning enjoy the scenario. If the Colts don’t draft Andrew Luck to appease Peyton Manning then they are crazy. Manning was slipping a bit before he was injured and don’t have much time left. So I will list the teams that would be a good fit for Peyton Manning if he does leave the Colts

War pending with Iran?

January 12th 2012 02:57
Is war pending with Iran or is it just a flexing of muscles? I have been worried about Iran for years and wrote about their military in 2007, you can read that here. With Iran doing every possible to get nuclear weapons and threatening the United States, war is almost inevitable.

A friend of mine who is heavily into politics told me the other day that President Obama would go to war with Iran by September. My buddy says Obama will do it so he won’t lose the election as Americans would not want to switch President’s in the middle of a war. I am not that cynical as the damage a war with Iran will do to our economy will hurt President Obama more than anything

Tim Tebow and 316 is quite the topic today. Tim Tebow the Christian quarterback threw for 316 yards in the biggest pro game of his life when the Broncos upset the Steelers. Tebow also averaged 31.6 yards per completion.

Tebow who has a huge Christian following wears his religion on his sleeve making him popular and hated depending on your personal beliefs. Tim Tebow has said that John 3 : 16 is his favorite bible verse. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life

Romeo Crennel hired by the Chiefs

January 9th 2012 16:42
Romeo Crennel has been hired as the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. Crennel was the defensive coordinator then interim head coach when Todd Haley was fired. This is another move in the Chief’s attempt to be the Patriots when they grow up.

Crennel was the defensive coordinator of the Patriots when they had their Super Bowl success. Crennel was less than stellar as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns before joining the Chiefs

The Republicans can’t seem to find a strong opponent for President Obama. Of course this always happens that somebody will look good then get picked apart. I am glad that I am not a member of any party since they all suck these days. I tend to think anyone can beat President Obama but you never know. I just wish the Republicans had one strong candidate and not a bunch of mediocre ones.

Ron Paul is a whack job who wants to practice Isolationism that is impractical in this day and time. Ron Paul would have us show weakness to our Islamic Terrorist enemies and encourage them to do more attacks here on American soil

Ray Lewis Ravens Playoffs
Ray Lewis wants another Super Bowl Ring. Photo by Andy from Wikimedia Commons
This is my preview of the AFC Playoff Game between the Houston Texans and the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore had a bye and the Texans stomped the Bengals to make it to this game.

The Houston Texans may be the surprise team in the playoffs. The Texans are down to their third quarterback in rookie T.J. Yates out of UNC. Yates went to the scouting combine to throw to receivers and not work out himself. Yet Yates has played well enough to win for the Texans. And backing up Yates are a couple of old timers in Jake Delhomme and Jeff Garcia

Most NFL teams rotate their defensive linemen and if you think Still can't help the team then you have been in too many frozen winters up there. I was thinking that Marcel would be an end though.

Perry would have been my choice. I used to be a Republican and lean that way on most issues.

I like Dalton but Cam would have the same or better record with the Bengals. The Panthers have no defense.
