randomthoughts - Random thoughts on everyday life: Who knows where they come from

randomthoughts - July 2007

The WHO magazine ran an article this week with the Top Celebrity blog sites around.....thought it might be a good archive for celebrity junkies to get the goss first hand.....the sites were graded on Honesty, reader interactivity, and addictiveness. Guess what, no sign of Lindsay, Paris or any of the usual suspects that have been polluting our magazine covers, guess they don't have what it takes to blog i.e. half a brain

Thought I'd leave it to Kylie to keep us up to date but here are the top sites and the links.......according to the WHO magazine

TOP 20
Pamela Anderson: pamelanderson.com

Rosie O'DOnnell: rosie.com

Zach Braff: zachbraff.com

Britney: britneyspears.com not voted for good reasons but for degree of tragicness...poor Brit, when will we leave her alone.....

The Beckhams: dvbstyle.com/blog Predictable name I guess, at least we can read Davids thoughts and not listen to the eternally disappointing voice.

Roseanne Barr: roseanneworld.com/blog Jeez I forgot she even existed

John Mayer: johnmayer.com/blog When he writes an original song I'll care

Alyssa Milano: alyssa.mlblogs.com Love her...she wins my vote

Jenna Fischer: myspace.com/pambeesley her character continues online, good for a laugh

Lilly Allen: myspace.com/lilymusic love her too.....does not hold back for better and a LOT of worse

Barbra Streisand: barbrastreisand.com OK Alyssa doesnt hold a candle to Babs our Icon....except for the bloody politics

Gene Simmons: genesimmons.com/news.html ...........huh

Alec Baldwin: huffingtonpost.com/alecbaldwin

Avril Lavigne: myspace.com/avrillavigne SO....

Fall out Boy: Really Long Link dont get why that was there but it is what it is, I guess they have 2 good songs and one of them does date Ashlee

Strange and ecclectic list, the article is a good read too.......

I guess I wouldn't have expected any less. I was getting my weekly dose of trash in my precious WHO magazine when to my surprise there was an article worth reading: An interview with Paulo Coelho, author of the Alchemist and many other inspirational books beloved my millions (he has actually sold 100million books)
I guess it is no surprise to anyone that the interview was probably more inspiring than his books, simply because this is a guy who LIVES and DOES: exactly what he preaches...here are some extracts, words of wisdon and all he is doing is describing his everyday life, now that is truly inspiring.....no BS...then again I might have this attitude if I had sold $100m books

The most inspiring thing is the guru of the meaning of life is still on a quest to find the meaning of life - makes me feel a lot better - He writes to understand himself better.

Here are some extracts
Q: What inspires you?
A: People. I write once every two years, it normally takes a month to write down, because the book is already in my heart. I keep on meeting people, travelling, doing things that I like to do. And then out of a conversation or a trip, inspiration comes. I don't take notes. I just live my life.

Q: What are you doing when not writing?
A: Living. THat keeps me very busy. I walk every day, i travel, I play archery, I have a normal life. I have my ups and downs, but I try to live my life as intensley as I can.

Q: What Philosophy do you live by?
A: I want to die while I'm still alive. I know a lot of people who are already dead; they walk, talk, eat, but they have lost their enthusiasm. I want to die with the smae enthusiasm that I had when i was a child.

P.S. Orblers before you run away from the computer to get out and live life he did say in the article that he loves blogging and spends a LOT of time doing it.....PHEW we are safe

P.P.S. his blog site is www.paulocoelhoblog.com

Tattoo's rock...do it for sure

July 21st 2007 02:14
Funny I was going to write a post on Tattoo's this morning when I saw a headline from a fellow orbler......to tatt or not to tatt

The reason I was going to write a post is that I am sitting in worlds of pain from my latest addition to my Tattoo family - I only have four very subtely placed tattoo's I am not as cool as David Beckham who has endured untold amounts of pain inking his upper torso, I did get my first one before him tho -

All pain aside, Tattoo's are definitely worth it so I say do it.

Tattoo's are very personal things, a person should not underestimate the power of etching something into your skin forever, the image or the words you chose become a part of you, they can chage the way you think and feel, especially the way you look at life.

What exactly they do an dohw it works for everyone I am not quite sure. All i know is what I have experienced.

The first Tattoo I had done, I chose very carefully and had someone draw the image for me and I still love it to this day. The outline of it is the shape of a triangle which i didn't think anything of at the time. While it was being etched into my body I had to breathe through worlds of pain, inside this world of pain I began to see everything in my life from a different perspective - not quite an out of body experience - just a different perspective, things I had been doing, feelings I had been hiding even from myself suddenly became very clear to me. - The symbol of a Triangle signifies change, I knew this but hadn't thought of it at the time of designing my first Tattoo- This clarity remained with me and the period after I had my first Tattoo done became a significant period of change in my life: some of it was amazing, some painful but all good.....
I have had similar experiences with all the other Tattoo's that I have had whether it is learning to accept myself or embracing love. I don't know what change this new Tattoo will bring, it came to me by accident and I can feel its positive enrgy in my body through the pain already and I can feel things moving in my mind and the world arround me.

So my advice to anyone thinking of getting a Tattoo is - do it - but think very carefully about what you decide to have on your body, it becomes a big part of you and who you are and mine have been a wonderful powerful addition to my life.

Mysecond Tattoo was a "poem" I wrote

"In my dreams I am free. In this life I will find the road to free my dreams and my soul"

A new found Modern Mystery.................
I was sitting having a few bevvies with my sister and a friend of hers last night an lo and behold they both started complaining their Boyfriends didn't put out enough.....I'll have to say I was amused and shocked. This is a note to all the guys out there who complain they don't get enough from their women, and particularly in response to a post on Orble a few weeks ago that amused me greatly about a guy who wasnt getting any that particular night - can't find the link apologies-

Most of my adult life I have worked with men and I always hear them complain - sometimes incessantly - that their wives/girlfriend don't put out enough; so I kinda just always assumed Guys have higher sex drives than women and put it down to that....a fact of life......

But my sister and her friend completely shattered that illusion...They said niether have ever been in a relationship where they get enough and most of their girlfriends say the same.......-ok now I know you are thinking they are ugly but trust me these girls are pretty hot - What is their definition of not enough you may ask, well they were both perplexed by the fact their Boyfriends only seemed interested twice a week......and complained they always had to ask for it....talk about the opposite to what guys say......

I don't really know what to make of all this, maybe the true battle in love is finding a person who wants it as much and when you do, maybe guys you aren't putting in the hard yards to get your girls in the mood....my sister and her friend had the theory that guys like to talk about it and fantasize about it but when it comes to the crunch they are too lazy to put out most of the time, especially when there is beer and football involved.....maybe its just Aussie blokes...who knows....

P.S. Guys this isn't meant to be an attack, don't take it personal like...

Then wake up and run to the computer and they slip away like quicksilver before they can hit the paper.

I read stories about famous Authors creating characters in their sleep and waking up and quickly writing it all down, and the next step creates history.....

In my dream portal I go on amazing adventures, meet amazing characters, do and see wonderful crazy things. Somehow they get lost in translation on the walk from my dream portal down my long dark hallway to my computer screen. When I get there the words all seem stupid, maybe I just dream they are good, maybe the words that come out are what was there and they just don't cut it in the cold light of day.......maybe that is why dreams are called dreams because that is all they are, reality is different, it is cold, harsh and unamazing........maybe the walk form the portal down the hall is too full of reality for the magic in my dreams to survive.....

I'll keep to the mantra of believing in my dreams and maybe one day the words will fall on the paper and look as amzing as my dreams, maybe that is the difference, maybe the guys that do it just never stop trying......

Well that is my Friday question anyhow?

Happy Orbling TFIF

I am not sure if I am allowed to write about this, it could be like mentioning the Google Gods name in Vain...but I can't work out how the Orble Votes work, I guess its the natural progression all us Orble rookies have to go through as we move from being new to being old Orblers...
Sometimes I go onto a site and Vote and I give the person lots of lovelly points and I feel good about it, other times my Vote is only worth a lousy point. First of all i thought you must get new points every night, or every time you post but today I still seem to be on 1 point and don't know why (yes if you write me a nice comment I cannot reciprocate with lots of voting points on your site)

Then I got to thinking maybe my points are only good in the category I write in, not in the whole Orble world or I only get new points when my stories get points but alas I cannot understand the pattern, I realise I just have no clue,...maybe that is the point, maybe it is meant to be a mystery, the mystery of the great Orble maze, I don't know but someone has to understand........

Anyhow......I guess mine is not to reason why, my job is just to write, write, write and one day all the rewards will fall from the Orble Sky's and Ill look back on these days of confusion as a small irrellevant period in my life........

happy Orbling

BLING...yes you heard it, I just watched the most ridiculous show on how to waste money....here are the Top 5 (stupid) ways the Uber rich spend way too much money for absolutely no reason other than....... you have it to waste.....seriously what goes through these people's minds????

5) a Bar in New York makes a $10,000 martini, yes you heard me a $10,000 Martini,,,it comes with Top shelf spirits (I certainly hope so ) and your very own Diamond selected by the Hotel jeweller.....

4) A hotel in Florida or Miami or somewhere makes a $6,000 Burger...it comes with no Diamonds just a bottle of really rare 1980 something French wine,,,I mean really!!!! how wasted would you have to be to order it!!!!!

3) Doggy bling anything......jewllery the works, dog houses from $11,000 up, complete with flat screen Tv's the works, you name it your dog can have it, the irony is if you are willing to spend that much on a dog then the dog is probably so spoilt it would live in your house and not want to go into the damn thing...mind you it gives the term in the Dog House a whole new meaning.....

2) Bling Water.....hand crafted bottles, perfectly Ph balanced water why wouldn't you pay up to $90 for it....apparently Paris Hilton has been seen giving it to her Dog .....the Guy who makes it currently has an order for a case of bottles to be encrusted with emeralds and Ruby's and real diamons which will sell for a cool $1,500 a bottle.......again I say why wouldn't you

1) and the winner is....the rotaRooter, the $5,000 toilet, complete with x-box, TV, lap top computer...I certainly hope no-one emails me from the Toilet,,,,unbelievable......w hat is that per crap anyhow????????

I mean honestly people what is the world coming too............I bet none of us bloggers would abuse wealth like this......CRAZY stuff
one word...IDIOTS

Forgive me if this is old news but I didn't see it on Orble yet ..... I have been out of touch for a few days .....but I just had lunch with a friend who told me some person with the Pseudonym Autumn has leaked the ending to Harry Potter on MySpace or somewhere out there online.....

I won't spoil the ending for anyone here for fear of my life but this is a WARNING to all those who don't want to know the ending; don't watch the news, pick up a paper or leave your house for a few days if this is true.....

I couldnt help myself and had to ask the ending,,,,I actually have trouble believing its true and am thinking its actually a Huge publicity stunt or HOAX.........but then again does Harry Potter really need any more publicity????????

Man I would hate the lawsuit if the leaked ending is true....I doubt it could be worth it those publishers have DEPP DEEP pockets.............
if you can't help youself goto here
