Poem about a Dead Person
November 5th 2009 04:57
This post is a bit morbid, because today, when I got home from lawn bowls I found one of my dogs dead, on the back lawn. Rangler was a schnauzer, and was thirteen years old. Schauzers can live for sixteen years or more, but that was not to be for Rangler.
She was a great show dog, and a good companion for us. She was also a good aunty for any puppies we had.
I am going to write a poem about Rangler, probably an acrostic poem, because I don't feel up to much more than that. Rangler was a good dog, and all good dogs should be remembered in some way when they go.
What I'd like my readers of this blog to do is to write their own poem about someone who is dead. It might be someone close to you, it might be a pet, or a movies star. It's your poem, write about who you want, in whatever style you want.
I've written poems about loved ones and also someone who did a terrible thing to me when I was little.
Your poem might be a celebration of someone's life, or it might be a 'Glad you're dead' poem. Whichever type of poem it is I hope you find some kind of release in the writing of the poem.
