While driving today I found myself trapped between possibly the only big rig truck in Texas not going the standard Deep South Speed Limit (90 mph) and a rusty old Ford hatchback simply incapable of speed. The funny part is that the Ford was driven by a redneck casually downing a 40 oz. Budweiser as if nothing were out of the ordinary. It was only 7:30 in the morning!
Last week a Christian legal group sued a Pennsylvania school district on behalf of a 10-year-old boy who claims his rights to religion and free speech were violated when he was not allowed to wear a Jesus costume during Halloween activities. Read article
The complaint alleges that Willow Hill Elementary officials ordered all students to wear a costume on Halloween, telling the children they would otherwise be "isolated" from the school's scheduled parade and party. Since the plaintiff and his mother have objections to pagan elements of the holiday based on their Christian beliefs, the boy chose to dress up as Jesus Christ.
