We are Beautiful

Americans compartmentalize sexuality, intelligence, and competence,. How can you claim to be smart, or funny, or compassionate, but still want to show off what God gave you? Why not be loud and proud about your positive physical qualities? We all have to live in this world, amidst the judgments of others, and can't blame people for wanting approval. I notice how folks feel caught between a rock and a hard place. Maybe we feel the need to play down our sexiness in order to be judged based on merit, or else somehow prove we haven't lost our " inner beauty." What does this mean? Why are we so ambivalent

These Boots are Made for Blogging

When I was a little girl I owned a white pair of go go boots. I wore them everywhere with everything. Even today, I wear boots year round. I have two pairs for everyday wear, one brown and one black. I also own a tan pair of fancy cowgirl boots for special occasions and hiking boots (that have not been brought out of the closet for years

Everybody Gets Twitterpated in the Springtime

One of my favorite experiences of all time is being "twitterpated". This word was an invention in the original Bambi movie of 1942, in which Friend Owl says, “Nearly everybody gets twitterpated in the springtime.” When the film first came out, the Oakland Tribune remarked that “‘Twitterpated’ is perhaps the best adjective coined by Hollywood” See for yourself
