Recently many songs for advertising come from famous pop artists or well known songs.
You can pay a fortune to use a well known song from The Beatles (if you can get it) or from someone like Bruce Springsteen (if your lucky).

I recently realized that I have been hanging with Orble for One Year. Wow that is quite a commitment if I say so myself. My first entry was logged Christmas Eve 2006 First log entry. So after 367 posts and almost 3000 comments, here are some questions I would like to pose to you guys in honor of this auspicious occasion:

Do you believe that music can change your life? Ever heard those 2 or 3 minutes of music where it really makes you think? As if it changed your life and influences you in such a powerful way? What about one single song? Can it leave an indelible footprint on your life?

I was reading an article online regarding 90s music. The author proposed that radio stations may look to the 90s for the latest format for "nostalgic" listening for their 20-40 year old listeners. Then I watched the VH1 I love the 90s series. So it got me to thinking: What songs from the 90s do I adore (besides the usual Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Beck, Collective Soul, REM etc...)

The female hierarchy has been living in the shadows of my awareness recently. Females generally know how hot they are on a relative basis. When two women meet, a look passing between them will communicate who is dominant and who is submissive based on the self-assessment each makes. Establishing who is above whom in the Hierarchy is normally clear cut. Problems arise when a woman asserts her claim to a higher position than that of which she is worthy.

Just thought I would memorialize this in song! Enjoy

To All The Cars I've Loved

January 2nd 2008 00:13
Since I was a young girl, I have had a love affair with my car. Growing up I would help my dad fix and refurbish old cars. While driving, my dad would quiz me about some of the finer aspects of cars we passed as we drove. I purchased my first car at the age of 16 with babysitting money I had saved. I am embarrassed to say that it was a Ford Pinto hatchback (rolling bomb on wheels). It was an obnoxious shade of pumpkin and my friends called her Prunella. I was not in love with this car. It was a means to an end. In high school I ran a "car pool' taking my guy friends to and from school and practices. (Great gig btw and very profitable in so many ways!) The guys found out quickly that the backseat was not the romantic wonderland they hoped it would be however. I loved my unfettered afility to drive back and forth to school and my part time job at a nearby amusement park.

Since then I have owned many cars. They took me back and forth to college, jobs, school, sporting event, concerts, travels far and wide, and on many adventures. My current car, a VW Passat just turned 100K miles. This is my 4th VW I have owned a Golf, Jetta, and two Passats. I love my car and know that it's days are numbered but in the meantime I will continue to spend many hours driving to and from meetings and appointments, listening to my iPod and enjoying the ride
