Racing the Rain!!!
May 19th 2009 09:34
As I type this the Northern Rivers has been given one of the harshest warnings of floods and damaging storms by the weather bureau that I've ever heard given (I've lived here for 2.5 years).
After just over a week of glorious sunny weather that has helped to dry out our block, our builder was very confident that they would be able to pour concrete today. We had an early phonecall from a future neighbour (also Mark's cousin) telling us that the concrete was being poured as she rang.
I raced around on the way to work to take photos (as above) and then watched nervously as the clouds gathered. It rained alot of the day at Lismore (where I work) and there were floods in different areas of the Northern Rivers. But our little village was dry.
The concrete has been poured. Now it needs to set and Noah's flood to pass us by. But will it? We wait in anticipation.

Seriously, this is brilliant news. Did you put a little hand-print in, or write something deep in a corner while it was still wet?

No worries, bodies are covered...LOL!!
You know, I didn't even think about sticking my paw into the concrete. I may have to get a knife and scrape something in before it gets covered over.
