We truly are all inventors of our own lives on an incredibly journey. I think all of us when we are growing up are encouraged to dream being told that, "You can be anything that you want to be, if you set your mind to it." I believe this is so true.
You really do get out of any situation exactly what you put into it. I also believe that there is no such thing as being too old to still be what you want to be, learn what you've always wanted to learn, strive for what you have always wanted to accomplish.
Is it your time? The world is all gates, and the opportunities, all yours.
