PURPLE MINERALS
Purple is not a common color for various reasons and usually appears in combination with other colors and this applys to minerals too. There are flecks and tinges and shimmers of purple in Granite and porphyry and fire opals and mother of pearl.
Lapis Lazuli has a whisper of purple that makes ultramarine blue an excellent basis for mixing purple for painters and other craftspersons.
Gems however can have stronger purples. The variant of Quartz known as Amethyst, purple Spinel, Iolite, and Zoisite, can be blue or purple.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures!
