Found this on the BBC news site this morning.
Isn't this just the craziest thing you've heard?
The local MP for the hospital involved, Tom Baker (no relation to the Doctor, I believe) said that
About 40 light bulbs have been taken down in hospital corridors to help a debt-ridden NHS trust save money.

"If our hospitals are scrimping money on light bulbs, how can they afford the latest drugs and high quality patient care?"

I heard a theory once about belly button fluff.
Its made out of socks. The ones that disappear in the wash?
You put pairs of socks into the laundry but one in ten pairs comes out as a single sock. Where do the missing socks end up?
They go into some weird worm hole in the universe where elves then turn them into belly button fluff.
