psychological alchemy prologue stanza 2

December 2nd 2006 08:18
Stanza 2

I was guided by the teachers
The poets
The masters and mistresses
I saw them all uniting
Blending and becoming one
I used to wonder
Be amazed
At the things
That they had said that they had done
Although ancient
I was young as well
Its secret world given to us
To enjoy
To play
To delight in the constant growing and evolving
To you all now I shall pass on
Gifts in ways of ways you cannot tell
Here in the prologue
We set the tone and pace
Here is the alchemical advice
The balance of time and space

In this is the purpose of this work
In this is the power to create
Here to make the body
Here to make the mind
Here to make the soul
Here to make the spirit
And here too is the dreamer
Delighting in all the dreams created
Here is a Merlin telling students all
To know the ship of the soul on each of you must call
And into its silent eternity you must fall
Use your imagination
Use your though,
Your feelings
And let us soar into the very heart and soul of who and where we are
Use the sacred dream
That source that pulses within us
Showing us vistas of worlds unknown
Know you my little ones that potential dangers lurk in its supernatural theme

As explorers of the unconscious realms, we need to recognise and understand that we have had many teachers, many masters and mistresses that have both helped and hindered our progress. Not only in one lifetime of course but throughout all our lifetimes past, present and future. We must also recognise that they must all blend into one, our own unconscious and that through the symbolism of alchemy we can see and achieve a form of unity and therefore know the balance of the heart and the mind. We must also look on what they have shown us and what we have known is in the reality that which purely and sincerely lives within each of us. Here as well we get what I believe is the true purpose of alchemy and that is the transformation or rather the retransformation of the body, the mind, the psychological and the spiritual. We further need to look on the ship the soul, the consciousness which guides us and directs us through the travails of our mortal existence. The way that this is done is through the power of the imagination, coupled with a fine tuning in of the intuition. It is and has to be the gut feeling we are after, not the rational thinking aspect of the psyche, although there is in alchemy a blending of the two, intuition is I believe the more powerful and more natural of the two. As to the potential dangers of the alchemical process, it has to be said any quest for self truth and self awareness has to be by its nature fraught with dangers and perils aplenty. We will encounter beings of our unconscious, we will have to fight, control and sublimate into ourselves the power and the presence of these beings. We also need to honour those beings, for all those beings that we become aware of have been there for us, helped and hindered us to be what we are today, but let’s aim for tomorrow for tomorrow is another journey.

Exercise # 2……I want you to see and feel for the sake of argument that you are aware of all your past lives, think of all the teachers you have had, male, female, in between, teachers older and even teachers younger. Think also on the various cultures you lived and how those cultures would have influenced your thinking and your feeling. Again I want about a dozen or so lines on responses
