Do you believe in psychics?
I think I might, but I am not convinced. You see I remember when I was 14 years old and my mother who had just split from my father decided to visit a psychic. The psychic turned out to be very good. She didn’t ask my mother any questions at all. She just sat there holding a personal object of my hers and spoke, and she didn’t ask for clarification on anything she said. My mother told me some of the things the psychic predicted.
Some of her predictions came true within months, such as she was going to get a promotion that she didn’t apply for. Some came true within a few years such as her trip with a purpose. The last prediction came true last year 20 years after her reading, when my brother joined the police force. My mother actually said to me, Peter joining the police force is the last of the predictions to come true. So based on that I really believe there are some true psychics out there.
Also I was watching a dcocumentary about the Queen Mother. Apparently when she was about 6 years old and just a commoner named Elizabeth she wandered into a psychic tent at a fair in Scotland. The psychic said to her "One day you will be the Queen of England". Wow if it is true that is over 100 years ago now.
I have had a couple of readings some have been ok they have picked up a couple of things but not sure if they were guess work or not. You see my mother said nothing to her psychic and her psychic asked no questions. A lot of them do. For example, they may say “what do you want me to focus on?” and you might say “My partner”, and they say “Well yes there has been a few problems there” Well doh, if there wasn’t you wouldn’t be consulting a psychic.
I went to the mind body and spirit festival in Sydney last May. At the time I was about 25 weeks pregnant. When I sat down the psychic said to me, ‘Do you have two children?’ ‘No’ I replied. ‘How many do you have?’ ‘Er half’ I said pointing at my belly. ‘Is it a boy?’ ‘Ah no’. ‘Oh well you will have a boy one day’. Whatever I lost interest in the rest of the conversation after that.
I had a good reading once when I was living in London. Her predictions were spot on, but even then she only predicted a couple of things. Now she has been discovered by one of those psychic programs and is far too expensive.
I think there may be a very small number of genuine psychics out there, but unfortunately, they are very rare. One thing I do know though is many charlatans out there that take away from those with a real gift.
